Evaluation of tomographic ISOCAM Park II gamma camera parameters using Monte Carlo method

open access: yesNucleus, 2015
In this paper the evaluation of tomographic ISOCAM Park II gamma camera parameters was performed using the Monte Carlo code SIMIND. The parameters uniformity, resolution and contrast were evaluated by Jaszczak phantom simulation.

Controlling Intestinal Organoid Polarity using Synthetic Dynamic Hydrogels Decorated with Laminin‐Derived IKVAV Peptides

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Design rules are presented to control intestinal organoid polarity in fully synthetic hydrogels. The laminin‐derived IKVAV sequence is crucial to obtain correct intestinal organoid polarity. Increasing hydrogel dynamics further supports the growth of correctly polarized intestinal organoids, while a bulk level of stiffness (G’ ≈ 0.7 kPa) is crucial to ...

Kidney dynamic SPECT acquisition on a CZT swiveling-detector ring camera: an in vivo pilot study

open access: yesBMC Medical Imaging
Background Large field of view CZT SPECT cameras with a ring geometry are available for some years now. Thanks to their good sensitivity and high temporal resolution, general dynamic SPECT imaging may be performed more easily, without resorting to ...

Multi-wavelength studies of the gamma-ray pulsar PSR J1907+0602

open access: yes, 2012
PSR J1907+0602 is a radio-faint, 107-ms GeV gamma-ray pulsar that was discovered with the Fermi LAT in a blind pulsar search. PSR J1907+0602 is located near the bright, extended TeV gamma-ray source MGRO J1908+06 which may be an associated pulsar wind ...

Metronidazole‐Loaded Cyclodextrin Nanogels for Antibacterial Therapy and Microbiota Regulation in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A methacrylamide β‐cyclodextrin‐based nanogel (MACD nGel) is developed to load the antimicrobial drug Metronidazole (MNZ) for topical delivery for the treatment of periodontitis. It is demonstrated that cyclodextrin nanogel (nGel) loaded with metronidazole provides an efficient drug delivery route but also has potential clinical applications and offers

A Concept for Preoperative and Intraoperative Molecular Imaging and Detection for Assessing Extent of Disease of Solid Tumors

open access: yesOncology Reviews
The authors propose a concept of “systems engineering,” the approach to assessing the extent of diseased tissue (EODT) in solid tumors. We modeled the proof of this concept based on our clinical experience with colorectal carcinoma (CRC) and gastrinoma ...

Living Materials Approach for In Situ Bio‐Polymers Production Using Bacillus Paralicheniformis in Microneedles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dissolvable microneedle (MN) device containing Bacillus paralicheniformis. The polymeric matrix encapsulates and protects the bacteria, preserving their viability while enabling in situ production and release of γ‐polyglutamic acid. The bacteria are delivered into the skin via 500 µm‐long microneedles, and remain detectable on the skin 24 h post ...
