Exceptional Electro‐Optic Coefficient Unlocked via Polarization Swaying in KNbO3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present the largest reported electro‐optic response in any material to date, guided by a new design principle that exploits ultralow coercive field polarization swaying enabled by low‐symmetry ferroelectric phases in monoclinic KNbO3 thin films for energy‐efficient classical and quantum photonic integrated circuits. ABSTRACT The electro‐optic effect

Efficient Magnetization Switching Driven by Orbital Torque in Light 3d Transition‐Metal Nitrides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Efficient magnetization switching is demonstrated through orbital torque generated from light 3d transition‐metal nitride. Transition‐metal nitrides are established as effective sources of orbital angular momentum for current‐induced switching, highlighting their potential for low‐power next‐generation orbitronic devices beyond conventional heavy‐metal‐

DEVELOPMENT OF A GENETIC ALGORITHM FOR OPTIMIZING CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORKS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE ACCURACY OF OBJECT DETECTION IN DIFFICULT LIGHTING AND BACKGROUND CONDITIONS

open access: yesJournal of Problems in Computer Science and Information Technologies
This article addresses the challenge of improving object detection accuracy in video data captured under low-light conditions. Modern video detection systems—particularly in areas such as security, autonomous systems, and medicine—often suffer from ...

Orbital Engineering through Strain‐Induced Spin–Orbit–Lattice Coupling in Sr2FeReO6 Double Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Epitaxial strain drives oxygen‐octahedral reconfiguration in Sr2FeReO6 double‐perovskite thin films, inducing orbital‐selective reconstruction of Re 5d states through modified Fe–O–Re hybridization. This coupled lattice–orbital response enables magnetic easy‐axis reversal and a transition from metallic‐like to semiconducting‐like transport.

Impact of inelastic corrections on $\gamma \gamma \to \gamma \gamma$ scattering from UPC at the LHC

open access: yesProceedings of the International Workshop on the Physics of Ultra Peripheral Collisions
The current theoretical estimations lead to cross-sectionsfor $AA \to \gamma \gamma AA$ which are somewhatsmaller than the measured ones by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations,In our recent paper, we estimated the contribution of inelastic channels to the Light-by-Light (LbL) scattering in ultraperipheral collisions (UPC) of heavy ions, in which one or ...

An analog gamma correction method for high dynamic range applications

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, a flexible analog gamma correction technology has been proposed. In order to represent images on modern display systems with proper contrast, gamma correction is required to encode these input images.

Hydrogel‐Based Method for High‐Resolution Measurements of Contact Mechanics in Rapid Biological Adhesives: A Case Study in Cuttlefish Tentacle Strikes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cuttlefish and squid can catch their prey within milliseconds using specialized tentacles and suckers. The physics of how the suckers can attach so quickly has remained a mystery given the technical challenges of studying them in vivo. In this publication, we develop a hydrogel that retains imprints of the suckers in order to estimate the forces they ...
