EP240801a/XRF 240801B: An X-Ray Flash Detected by the Einstein Probe and the Implications of Its Multiband Afterglow

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We present multiband observations and analysis of EP240801a, a low-energy, extremely soft gamma-ray burst (GRB) discovered on 2024 August 1 by the Einstein Probe (EP) satellite with a weak contemporaneous signal also detected by the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst

Fitting the Crab Supernova with a Gamma-Ray Burst

open access: yesUniverse
Here, we reconsider the historical data, assuming a gamma-ray burst (GRB) as its source. A Supernova correlated with the GRB explains well the fading time observed by the ancient Chinese astronomers in the daytime and the nighttime, while the GRB power ...

Recent Advancements in the Hydrodeoxygenation of Lignin‐Derived Phenols to Cyclohexane‐Based Products Over Supported Ruthenium Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
This review elucidates structure‐activity relationships in Ru‐supported catalysts for hydrodeoxygenation of lignin‐derived phenolics to cyclohexane‐based products. It highlights the synergy between Ru nanoparticle size, dispersion, and electronic state with tailored support acidity and defects, enabling efficient hydrogenation–deoxygenation.

GRB Duration Distribution Considering the Position of the Fermi

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2012
The Fermi satellite has a particular motion during its flight which enables it to catch the gamma-ray bursts mostly well. The side-effect of this favourable feature is that the lightcurves of the GBM detectors are stressed by rapidly and extremely ...

Perovskite Quantum Dots: Fabrication, Degradation, and Enhanced Performance Across Solar Cells, Optoelectronics, and Quantum Technologies

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Metal halide perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have been extensively explored due to their unique optical/optoelectronic properties such as tunable wavelength, narrow emission, and high photoluminescence quantum efficiency. This critical review article is an overview of the fabrication methods, degradation mechanisms of PQDs and explores strategies for ...

A Study of the Spectral Properties of Gamma-Ray Bursts with Main and Second Bursts

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The origins of the main burst and second burst of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and the composition of their jets remain uncertain. To explore this complex subject more thoroughly, we conduct a spectral analysis on 18 GRBs with a main and a second burst ...
