The Temporal Symmetrical and Translational Structure in Gamma-Ray Burst Light Curves
Tremendous information is hidden in the light curve of a gamma-ray burst (GRB). Based on Compton Gamma Ray Observatory/Burst And Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) data, Hakkila found a majority of GRBs can be characterized by a smooth, single-peaked ...

LOCALIZATION OF GAMMA-RAY BURSTS USING THE FERMI GAMMA-RAY BURST MONITOR [PDF]
The Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) has detected over 1400 Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) since it began science operations in July, 2008. We use a subset of over 300 GRBs localized by instruments such as Swift, the Fermi Large Area Telescope, INTEGRAL, and MAXI, or through triangulations from the InterPlanetary Network (IPN), to analyze the accuracy of ...

Revisiting the Parameter Space of Binary Neutron Star Merger Event GW170817
Since the gravitational wave event GW170817 and gamma-ray burst GW170817A, there have been numerous studies constraining the burst properties through analysis of the afterglow light curves.

Stripping Model for Short Gamma-Ray Bursts in Neutron Star Mergers
We overview the current status of the stripping model for short gamma-ray bursts. After the historical joint detection of the gravitational wave event GW170817 and the accompanying gamma-ray burst GRB170817A, the relation between short gamma-ray bursts ...

Fast Radio Burst/Gamma-Ray Burst Cosmography
Recently, both theoretical arguments and observational evidence suggested that a small fraction of fast radio bursts (FRBs) could be associated with gamma-ray bursts (GRBs).

Gamma-Ray Burst Afterglows [PDF]
▪ Abstract The discovery of counterparts in X-ray and optical to radio wavelengths has revolutionized the study of γ-ray bursts, until recently the most enigmatic of astrophysical phenomena. We now know that γ-ray bursts are the biggest explosions in nature, caused by the ejection of ultrarelativistic matter from a powerful energy source and its ...

I consider various possibilities for making gamma-ray bursts, particularly from close binaries. In addition to the much-studied neutron star+neutron star and black hole+neutron star cases usually considered good candidates for short-duration bursts, there are also other possibilities.

Cosmography by gamma ray bursts [PDF]
Summary: Aims. Relations connecting gamma ray burst quantities can be used to constrain cosmographic parameters of the Hubble law at medium-high redshifts. Methods. We consider a sample of 27 gamma ray bursts to construct the luminosity distance to redshift relation and derive the values of the parameters \(q_{0}, j_{0}\), and \(s_{0}\).

The results of a study of 43 peaked R-band light curves of optical counterparts of gamma-ray bursts with known redshifts are presented. The parameters of optical transients were calculated in the comoving frame, and then a search for pair correlations ...

GRB990123: Evidence that the Gamma Rays Come from a Central Engine [PDF]
GRB990123 was a long complex gamma-ray burst with an optical transient that started early within the gamma-ray phase. The peak and power law decay of the early optical emission strongly indicates the presence of a decelerating relativistic shell during ...
