EphB1 Receptor Blockade Augments Morphine Antinociception via Inhibiting GRK2‐Mediated µ‐Opioid Receptor Internalization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Administration of opioids activates ephrinB2‐EphB1 receptor signaling. Activated EphB1 receptors induce GRK2‐mediated phosphorylation of MOR at Ser375, which initiates the internalization of MOR and reduces opioid antinociception at the behavioral level. ABSTRACT Opioids are the primary treatment for severe pain in clinical practice.

)The Segmental Distribution and Connection of Afferent Neurons of Urinary Bladder, "Guan Yuan Shu", "Pang Guang Shu" Points in the Spinal Ganglion and Spinal Cord

open access: yes针刺研究, 1995
Thirty rabbits, weighing 2. 5 - 3.0kg, were divided into three groups of 10 rabbits each. 10% HRP 50 - 80μl was injected into "Guan Yuan Shu" point and "Pang Guang Shu" point and 10% HRP 100 - 150μl injected into the urinary bladder.

Fatty-acid-binding protein inhibition produces analgesic effects through peripheral and central mechanisms

open access: yesMolecular Pain, 2017
Background Fatty-acid-binding proteins (FABPs) are intracellular carriers for endocannabinoids, N-acylethanolamines, and related lipids. Previous work indicates that systemically administered FABP5 inhibitors produce analgesia in models of inflammatory ...

Plasticity of TRPV1-expressing sensory neurons mediating autonomic dysreflexia following spinal cord injury

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2012
Spinal cord injury (SCI) triggers profound changes in visceral and somatic targets of sensory neurons below the level of injury. Despite this, little is known about the influence of injury to the spinal cord on sensory ganglia.

Immune Modulatory Therapy for Severe Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in a Patient With Mitochondrial Complex I Deficiency: A Case Report

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dengue virus (DENV) poses a serious global health challenge, particularly in cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Patients with preexisting mitochondrial disorders may be at increased risk for complications due to the specific impact of DENV on mitochondrial‐dependent cellular processes and immune function.

Severe Headbanging Responsive to Levodopa in a Child With FOXP1 Syndrome

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We report a 9‐year‐old female with FOXP1 syndrome due to a de novo in‐frame deletion in the FOXP1 gene. The child has a severe neurodevelopmental disorder including global developmental delay and autism spectrum disorder. At age 2, she developed severe headbanging, which was progressive and did not respond to multidisciplinary, behavioral ...

Origin of renewed spinal ganglia during tail regeneration in urodeles

open access: yes, 1999
The source of the cells which form the spinal ganglia within the regenerating urodele tail is not yet indisputably known. Classical and modern experimental approaches trace the spinal cord as the most probable source.

A mouse model of mechanical stress injury to the basal ganglia using thermosensitive PNIPAM hydrogel for intracerebral hemorrhage research

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In this study, we established a novel mouse model of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) by stereotactically injecting thermosensitive PNIPAM hydrogel into the internal capsule to impose localized mechanical stress on the corticospinal tract, which provides a straightforward and reproducible tool for preclinical studies on focal mechanical stress–induced ...

The liver‐brain axis: A multidimensional regulatory network implicated in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis and clinical implications

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram of the core pathways of the liver‐brain axis in regulating AD. The liver regulates cerebral Aβ deposition, tau phosphorylation, and neuroinflammation through pathways such as metabolic detoxification (urea cycle, ketone body metabolism, glutathione antioxidant system), molecular secretion (APOE, CRP, FGF21, IGF‐1), and Aβ clearance ...

Establishing Sensory Neurons as Therapeutic Targets in Peripheral Neuropathy Driven by Polyglutamine Expanded Murine ATXN3

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Repeat expansion disorders frequently involve peripheral neuropathy, yet mechanisms remain unclear. Using a spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) Knock‐In Atxn3Q300/Q6, we identify progressive sensorimotor deficits, peripheral nerve pathology, and dorsal root ganglia RNA splicing dysregulation.
