Intraventricular ganglioglioma

Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2008
Gangliogliomas are mixed tumors consisting of both glial elements and differentiated neurons. Although any part of the central nervous system can be affected, little is known about intraventricular gangliogliomas. A patient with a ganglioglioma is presented in the previously unreported location of the anterior third ventricle at the foramen of Monro ...

Brainstem gangliogliomas

Pediatric Neurology, 1986
Gangliogliomas are rare neurogliogenic tumors of the central nervous system. Primary involvement of the brainstem is characterized by variable presentations and a long clinical course before diagnosis. Identification of this group of tumors is essential because clinical improvement and prolonged survival have been documented following partial surgical ...

Congenital ganglioglioma

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2002
Congenital neoplasms of brain presenting at birth are extremely uncommon. We report a case of congenital ganglioglioma presenting at birth with hydrocephalus. Ventriculoperitoneal shunt and surgical debulking of the tumour along with histopathological confirmation were done at 6 months of age.

Oligodendroglial ganglioglioma

Brain Tumor Pathology, 2011
Gangliogliomas are rare tumors of the central nervous system, usually containing neoplastic ganglion cells and astrocytic components. Few cases of ganglioglioma containing only oligodendrocytic tissue have been reported to date. We present a case of a 40-year-old woman with ganglioglioma consisting mostly of oligodendroglial components.

Intracerebral Ganglioglioma

Australasian Radiology, 1992
ABSTRACTA case of a rare intracerebral tumour, namely a ganglioglioma, is reported to illustrate the CT and MRI features. The finding of focal thinning of the inner skull vault in association with an adjacent intracerebral mass lesion can aid in the diagnosis of intracerebral ganglioglioma.

Intracranial gangliogliomas

Acta Neurochirurgica, 1984
Five cases of intracranial gangliomas in their clinical, diagnostic and surgical aspects are presented. In four cases we arrived at the diagnosis by CT-scan, which showed in all of them, calcified lesions without a mass effect. Total surgical resection was performed in four cases, and there is no evidence of recurrence either clinically or in the CT ...

Brainstem Ganglioglioma

Journal of Child Neurology, 2008
Gangliogliomas are usually benign slow-growing neoplasms, seen mainly in the first 3 decades of life and are prevalently located supratentorial, mostly in the temporal and frontal lobe. The authors present a rare case of a brainstem ganglioglioma in an 11-year-old boy who was referred to their hospital complaining of episodes of blurry vision, loss of

Pediatric infratentorial ganglioglioma

Child's Nervous System, 2015
Pediatric infratentorial gangliogliomas are exceedingly rare tumors; thus, the factors affecting their outcome are poorly understood and their optimal management has still to be defined. We reviewed the literature on pediatric gangliogliomas with a focus on those located in the posterior fossa to study treatment and outcome data. We added to this review

Bifocal temporal ganglioglioma

Neurosurgical Review, 1999
The authors present the case of a 33-year-old patient with a bifocal ganglioglioma located in the right superior temporal gyrus. He had a history of tonic-clonic seizures and developed intermittent nausea and vertigo later on. Magnetic resonance imaging showed two distinct, small lesions in the right temporal lobe.

GANGLIOGLIOMA

Archives of Neurology & Psychiatry, 1930
Since some semblance of order was brought out of the existing confusion by Virchow 1 in his classification Of tumors composed of nerve elements, many contributions to the study of their pathology have been made. Of this fairly replete literature no small portion has been devoted to the class of tumors, not without their peculiar interest, that are ...
