Intraosseous Ganglion Cysts

Orthopedics, 1988
ABSTRACT: An illustrative case report of intraosseous ganglion cyst is presented. Intraosseous ganglion cysts are uncommon, juxtaarticular, and benign. They are thought to arise from an intramedullary metaplastic event. Intraosseous ganglia are most common in middleaged patients.

Lumbar Synovial or Ganglion Cysts

Neurosurgery, 1986
Abstract Most reports regarding synovial cysts of the spinal canal have been presentations identifying an unusual pathological entity that is to be included in the differential diagnosis of cauda equina compression syndromes. Most of the 26 cases reported represent isolated examples of this pathological process.

Synovial Cysts, Ganglion Cysts, and Bursae

2023
Abstract: This chapter focuses on the classification and imaging of synovial cyst, ganglion cyst, and bursae. These lesions clinically present as a soft tissue mass and are often referred to the radiologist for further workup of a “soft tissue tumor.” They are however of nonneoplastic origin and have in most scenarios characteristic imaging features.

Intraspinal Extradural Ganglion Cyst

Journal of Spinal Disorders, 1995
Occurrence of ganglion cysts in the spine is extremely rare. Common symptoms include intermittent lumbar pain and pain at night. Neurological examination to distinguish from other etiologies of radicular pain may be difficult. The L4-L5 level is the most common sight of occurrence. Radiographically, degenerative changes, particularly spondylolisthesis,

Ganglion cyst of the temporomandibular joint

Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 2003
AbstractWe report a case of cystic lesion in a 37‐year‐old woman. The patient had an oval‐shaped lesion adjacent to the temporomandibular joint. Thick fibrotic tissue and muscle were observed microscopically, but the epithelium lining was not observed. The lesion was diagnosed as a ganglion cyst.

Ganglion cyst of the temporomandibular joint

Revue de Stomatologie, de Chirurgie Maxillo-faciale et de Chirurgie Orale, 2014
Ganglion cyst of the temporomandibular joint is a rare disease, which may arise from myxoid degeneration of the collagenous tissue of the temporomandibular joint capsule, without epithelial or endothelial lining. We report a case of cystic lesion in a 40-year-old female patient. The patient had a left pre-auricular oval-shaped swelling without any ...

Ganglion cyst of the temporomandibular joint

International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2013
Ganglion cysts are benign soft tissue tumours occurring in or near joints such as the wrist, foot or knee. They are rarely encountered in the region of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The authors report a ganglion cyst of the TMJ in a 56-year-old woman. The patient experienced pain and presented with a prominence in the right TMJ region, anterior to

Baker’s Cysts, Ganglion Cysts

2003
T2-weighted MRI sequences are most suitable to locate cysts about the knee. Further characterization of such cysts in unusual locations or of unusual extent and configuration may require T1-weighted imaging before and after administration of an intravenous contrast medium.

Arthroscopic Excision of Ganglion Cysts

Hand Clinics, 2014
Arthroscopy is an advancing field in orthopedics, the applications of which have been expanding over time. Traditionally, excision of ganglion cysts has been done in an open fashion. However, more recently, studies show outcomes following arthroscopic excision to be as good as open excision.
