Mountainous Landslide Recognition Based on Gaofen-3 Polarimetric SAR Imagery

IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019
Full-polarimetric SAR image is very useful for the landslide monitoring especially in the well vegetation-covered mountainous region. GaoFen-3 (GF-3) is the first civil C-band fully polarimetric SAR satellite in China. In order to test the ability of GF-3 full-polarimetric SAR data on landslide monitoring, 2 cases of mountainous landslide in ...

Reliability Design for Gaofen-3 Satellite Phased Array Antenna

2019 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2019
The Gaofen-3 satellite is a polarimetric SAR working in C band with high SAR imaging resolution. Moreover, it is also the first C band remote sensing satellite designed up to 8 years life. The active phased antenna of the SAR is capable of scanning in two principal planes. The antenna array is composed of four panels and 24 modules totally.

On the Processing of Gaofen-3 Spaceborne Dual-Channel Sliding Spotlight SAR Data

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2022
Currently, in the spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) community, the sliding spotlight mode has been widely applied to achieve high-resolution imaging. However, limited by the system pulse repetition frequency (PRF), it is usually impossible to realize a large-scale coverage at the same time.

Gaofen-3 sea ice detection based on deep learning

2017 Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Fall (PIERS - FALL), 2017
Sea ice detection is one of the most important applications in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image processing and it always be served for ship navigation and climate change studies. Due to the noise, low resolution and multiple characteristics of SAR images, and limitations of traditional SAR image classification methods, the detection accuracy of ...

Comparison of Gaofen-3 and Radarsat-2 Data for Polarimetric Sar Image Classification

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
On 10 August 2016 China launched the GF-3, its first C-band polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite, which was put into operation at the end of January, 2017. The GF-3 polarimetric SAR has many advantages such as high resolution and multi-polarization imaging capabilities.

A Modified Kalman-Filter Method for Scalloping Suppression with Gaofen-3 SAR Images

IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019
ScanSAR images are widely used in both military and civil fields with the capability of wide swath. However, the scalloping effect seriously affects the quality of scanSAR images, especially in the complex scenes, e.g. the sea-land junction scene. This paper presents a modified Kalman-filter method for scalloping suppression.

Significant Wave Height Retrieval from Gaofen-3 Wave Mode Images

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
Significant wave height $(H_{s})$ , is an important parameter, represented as the integration of directional wave spectra. Although many researchers have directly extracted $H_{s}$ from SAR images and got a great accuracy of retrieval, those approaches are not suitable for GF-3 SAR data. In this paper, we propose an empirical approach for SAR $H_{s}
