Detection of Aerial Vehicles Using Satellite Imagery: Comparative Analysis of U‐Net Segmentation Model and YOLO Object Detection Model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In the contemporary defense industry and the realm of air traffic safety, the identification of aircraft on land and in the air is of paramount importance. Contemporary radar systems have the capacity to track aircraft; however, these systems are inherently dependent on human intervention, thereby introducing a heightened risk of undesirable events ...

Spatial Distribution of Lufeng Dinosaur Valley Outcrops Based on the GF‐5 Hyperspectral OS–SPA–SVM Model

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This study presents a novel approach to identifying the spatial distribution of geological outcrops using remote sensing, with the Lufeng Dinosaur Valley in China as the focal area. We integrate GF‐5 hyperspectral imagery with the automated morphological endmember extraction–pure pixel index (AMEE–PPI) algorithm to improve endmember extraction accuracy.

Multi‐Scale Soil Salinization Dynamics From Global to Pore Scale: A Review

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 62, Issue 4, December 2024.
Abstract Soil salinization refers to the accumulation of water‐soluble salts in the upper part of the soil profile. Excessive levels of soil salinity affects crop production, soil health, and ecosystem functioning. This phenomenon threatens agriculture, food security, soil stability, and fertility leading to land degradation and loss of essential soil ...

Ship target detection in SAR images based on SimAM attention YOLOv8

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 19, Page 1428-1436, December 2024.
1. Mitigated the uniform treatment disparity across all regions of images processed by the YOLOv8 model, and validated the effectiveness of our method through experiments. 2. The combination of a simple, parameter‐free attention module (SimAM) attention mechanism with the YOLOv8 visual model for synthetic aperture radar ship target detection ...

MW‐SAM:Mangrove wetland remote sensing image segmentation network based on segment anything model

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 18, Issue 14, Page 4503-4513, 11 December 2024.
Mangrove wetland remote sensing image segmentation network based on segment anything model is based on the pre‐trained segment anything model and achieves cross‐domain adaptation through parameter‐efficient fine‐tuning techniques. It introduces wetland‐specific prompts, auxiliary branches, semi‐supervised training, and iterative optimization strategies
