Magnetic properties of praseodymium iron garnet and neodymium iron garnet
Physical Review B, 1986We have measured saturation magnetization, ferromagnetic resonance linewidth, effective g factor, and magnetocrystalline anisotropy coefficients on single-crystal samples of praseodymium iron garnet (PrIG) and neodymium iron garnet (NdIG). Saturation magnetizations were measured from 77 to 550 K.

Correlation between structural parameters of garnet and garnet-like structures
Acta Crystallographica Section B Structural Science, 1999Statistical analysis of structural parameters of garnet and garnet-like structures retrieved from the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database has revealed strong correlations between them. The degree of correlation depends on doping site and garnet type. Structural parameters are not equally sensitive to changes imposed by doping.

The influence of Fe3+ on garnet–orthopyroxene and garnet–olivine geothermometers
Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, 2014Applying Fe2+–Mg exchange geothermometers to natural samples may lead to incorrect temperature estimates if significant Fe3+ is present. In order to quantify this effect, high-pressure experiments were carried out in a belt apparatus in a natural system close to CFMAS at 5 GPa and 1,100–1,400 °C.

Geology, 1988Cation-exchange geothermometry is predicated on the basis of chemical equilibration between phases involved in ion-exchange reactions. If chemical equilibrium is attained between the phases at any temperature and subsequently locked in, temperature determinations should be consistent throughout a given sample.
