Gas-dynamic calculation of pulsating flow in pipelines
Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 1974A numerical solution is examined for a system of equations of one-dimensional isothermal flow of a perfect gas in a horizontal pipe with a periodically varying function of the flow rate at the boundary. The numerical solution is compared with the solution of the linearized problem. The results can be used to calculate the pulsating motion of gas in the

Variable nozzle turbocharger: gas-dynamic calculation, 3D modeling, CFD analysis, characteristics
Trudy NAMI, 2023Introduction (problem statement and relevance). The environmental requirements for vehicle engines becoming more stringent require development and introduction of high-performance turbo chargers. Transition from external to internal varying, namely to the variable nozzles of the turbine, is caused by the necessity to reduce the transient process time ...

An entropy scheme for a gas-dynamic calculation
USSR Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 1969Abstract THE usual requirements for difference schemes (in particular for the gas-dynamic equations) are approximation and stability. The solutions of concrete equations, however, have a number of important qualitative features; the satisfaction of the above requirements is far from always being a guarantee that they can be transferred to finite ...

Calculation of the characteristics of a gas-dynamic laser
Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 1974The dependence of the radiated power on the characteristics of optical cavities in the case of flow systems has been investigated in a number of papers [1–3], in which it is assumed that population inversion of the laser levels is obtained until entry into the cavity.

Convergence issues on fully-coupled radiative gas dynamic calculations
38th Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2000Convergence problems on the fully-coupled calculation of strongly radiating hypersonic flowfields are discussed. Calculations are conducted for the inviscid flow over an axisymmetric blunt body of 1.5m nose radius. The case of the flow Mach number 46.8 is considered.

Numerical gas-dynamical calculation of turbulent mixing of the interface
USSR Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 1976Abstract TURBULENT mixing of the interface of two gases (liquids) of different density is considered. The results of [1] are generalized to the adiabatic case. A difference method is constructed. Examples of calculations of motions allowing for turbulent mixing are presented.

Numerical Calculation of Stationary Subsonic Gas Dynamics Problems
1990The present work considers algorithm of numerical solution of the problems on two-dimensional subsonic ideal gas flows in channels of complicated shape with inlet, outlet and impemeable parts on the boundary. At present the problems on steady ideal gas flows are most often solved by the stabilization method which as a solution of stationary equations ...

One-dimensional compressible gas dynamics calculations using the Boltzmann equation
Journal of Computational Physics, 1981One-dimensional inviscid gas dynamics computations are made using a new method to solve the Boltzmann equation. The numerical method is explicit and is based on concepts from the kinetic theory of gases. The gas density, velocity and temperature are computed by integrating numerically the molecular velocity distribution function.

Calculation of waves of finite amplitude in the gas dynamic approximation
Fluid Dynamics, 1986A study is made of the third (gasdynamic) approximation in the theory of waves of finite amplitude [1–3]. The evolution equation obtained for the velocity of the gas is integrated analytically. By way of example two well-known problems are considered, the propagation of a steady symmetric density discontinuity [2], and the quantitative description of ...

Methods for the Gas Dynamic Calculation of the Cooled Multistage Turbine Performance
Volume 2C: Turbomachinery, 2014Method of 1D calculation was developed. It is applicable to various ideal gases and their mixtures with regard to variability of their physical properties within wide temperature range. Four checking cross-sections were set for each vane/blade row: at the row inlet, in the row throat, at the row outlet, and downstream the row at the ...
