Prediction of gas-liquid two-phase flow regime in microgravity [PDF]

open access: yes
An attempt is made to predict gas-liquid two-phase flow regime in a pipe in a microgravity environment through scaling analysis based on dominant physical mechanisms.

Exploiting the Functionality of Cerium Oxide‐Modified Carbon Nanohorns Catalysts Toward Enhanced CO2 Reduction Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A cerium oxide‐carbon nanohybrid catalyst is synthesized via two distinct routes and is integrated into H‐type cells and gas diffusion layers (GDLs) to enhance electrochemical performance. Structural variations significantly affect performance, with the solvothermal sample exhibiting higher current densities.

An investigation into the flow behavior of a single phase gas system and a two phase gas/liquid system in normal gravity with nonuniform heating from above [PDF]

open access: yes
The fluid behavior in normal gravity of a single phase gas system and a two phase gas/liquid system in an enclosed circular cylinder heated suddenly and nonuniformly from above was investigated.

Modulating Electrochemical CO2 Reduction Pathways via Interfacial Electric Field

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering interfacial electric fields in Cu/ITO electrodes enables precise control of CO2 reduction pathways. Charge transfer from Cu to ITO generates positively charged Cu species that steer selectivity from ethylene toward methane. This work demonstrates how interfacial electric‐field modulation can direct reaction intermediates and transform ...

Numerical Simulation of Liquid Carrying Performance of Vortex Tools in Gas Production Pipeline

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
To analyze whether vortex tool can enhance liquid carrying capacity in gas production pipeline and reduce liquid accumulation in low-lying pipeline, CFD is used to establish a gas-liquid two-phase flow field model with and without vortex tool in the gas ...

Pore-scale simulation of multicomponent multiphase reactive transport with dissolution and precipitation

open access: yes, 2014
Multicomponent multiphase reactive transport processes with dissolution-precipitation are widely encountered in energy and environment systems. A pore-scale two-phase multi-mixture model based on the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is developed for such ...

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...
