Atomic structure of Ga and As atoms on GaAs(110)

Atomic structures of Ga and As atoms on GaAs(110) were examined employing a first-principles pseudopotential method. Both Ga and As atoms reside in the center of a triangle consisting of a surface Ga and two surface As atoms in the single-atom chemisorbed state. Adsorption energies for Ga and As atoms are 3.1 and 3.5 eV, respectively.

Diffusion of hydrogen atoms in helium gas and helium atoms in hydrogen gas

The potential of Meyer and Frommhold describing the interaction between hydrogen and helium atoms is used to calculate the diffusion coefficients of hydrogen atoms in helium gas and helium atoms in hydrogen gas as functions of temperature, taking into account higher-order corrections of transport theory.

On the instability in gas atomization

The instability theory of fluid flow is applied in gas atomization and the results show that the instability of interfacial wave is the main cause of gas atomization. The size of the droplets and its change with parameters are also studied, the results are compatible with the experiments.

Modeling of atomization rate during gas atomization

Abstract A mathematical model provides the tools to compute the atomization rate from the backpressure, and the height of the descending liquid head and the amount of the over-pressure required as the functions of the atomization time. The computed data agree reasonably well with the experimental data.
