Centrifugal Separation of Carbon Isotopes Using Heptafluoropropane as Processing Gas
The demand for stable isotopes has increased in the field of medical diagnosis, biopharming, quantum communication and so on. Natural carbon has two stable isotopes: 12C (98.89%) and 13C (1.11%). 13C in high abundance is mainly used in tracer field.

Waves in the gas centrifuge: Asymptotic theory and similarities with the atmosphere [PDF]
We study the stratified gas in a rapidly rotating centrifuge as a model for the Earth's atmosphere. Based on methods of perturbation theory, it is shown that in certain regimes, internal waves in the gas centrifuge have the same dispersion relation to ...

Investigation of hydrodynamic parameters inside a gas centrifuge rotor in the presence of hydrogen fluoride and air light gases using DSMC and Boltzmann distribution function [PDF]
The Boltzmann equation which describes binary collisions between molecules is a very important equation in physics and fluid dynamics. Direct Monte Carlo simulation is one of the methods to solve the Boltzmann equation. The moisture can leak to the fluid

Pressure Recovery in a Diffuser for Gas Centrifuge [PDF]
The pressure recovery of supersonic flow at very low density was studied in a vane-island type diffuser for gas centrifuge. A tester of diffuser with a rapidly rotating cylinder was used in experiments. Wall static pressures were measured at many points in the diffuser to observe the static pressure distribution.

Impact of the pulsed braking force on the axial gas circulation and gas content in centrifuges for uranium isotope separation was investigated by the method of numerical simulation. Pulsed brake of the rotating gas by the momentum source results into generation of the waves which propagate along the rotor of the centrifuge. The waves almost doubles the

Investigation of concentration variation of the components of a three-component gas mixtures in the radial and axial direction of a gas centrifuge machine under “total reflux flow” conditions by using the DSMC method [PDF]
In this paper, using a new combinatory meshing technique in the axisymmetric coordinate, a MCC-DSMC solver is introduced. Using this solver, the flow and the concentration variation inside a centrifuge machine in a rigid body rotation mode with the DSMC ...

Optimum axial flow taper in a countercurrent gas centrifuge [PDF]
The effect of an axially varying countercurrent circulation rate in a gas centrifuge on the efficiency factors, e/sub I/, the ideality efficiency, and e/sub C/, the circulation efficiency, is investigated and compared with the case in which the ...

Modeling and simulation of transient performance of uranium enrichment cascade in the event of a crash of gas centrifuge machines [PDF]
One of the significant phenomena in the operational conditions of the enrichment cascades is the sudden crash of a number of separate machines along the cascade.
