This article reports an electrosynthetic method for vicinal trifluoromethylchlorosulfonylation of alkenes using [Cu(MeCN)4]PF6 and triethylamine, without elaborate ligands. The reaction efficiently adds CF3 and SO2Cl across diverse unactivated alkenes with broad functional group tolerance.

Al‐Hilfi et al. present a biocatalytic strategy for synthesizing 5‐methyl‐5,6‐dihydrothymidine (5‐MDHT), a sensitive MRI contrast agent.
