Analysis of Lambic Beer Volatiles during Aging Using Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) and Gas Chromatography–Olfactometry (GCO)

open access: yesBeverages, 2020
Lambic beer is produced using spontaneous fermentation. Gueuze is a style of lambic beer that blends “young” (1 year old) and “aged” (2+ years old) beers.

PLANT PHYSIOLOGICAL PERFORMANCE AND SEED CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF SOYBEAN UNDER DIFFERENT SPATIAL ARRANGEMENT

open access: yesRevista de Agricultura Neotropical, 2023
Few studies present interactions among plant physiological and seed chemical composition of soybean cultivates under different arrangements. Therefore, this study seeks to understand this relationship between space occupation and product quality.

Flow Rates in Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography and Supercritical Fluid Chromatography: A Tool for Optimization

open access: yesJournal of Open Research Software, 2016
This paper aimed to develop a standalone application for optimizing flow rates in liquid chromatography (LC), gas chromatography (GC) and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC). To do so, Van Deemter’s equation, Knox’ equation and Golay’s equation were

Silicon-based thermal conductivity detector for gas sensing and gas chromatography [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sensors and Sensor Systems
We present a novel thermal conductivity detector (TCD) for gas sensing and gas chromatography. Its original architecture is based on a suspended membrane on top of which a heating element made of titanium nitride and a separated sensing element made of ...

La chromatographie en phase gazeuse et l’étude des goudrons

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1961
Analysis by gas chromatography of the heavy fractions of coal tar calls for working temperatures up to 400 °C. A method is described to execute gas chromatography at such high temperatures and the interpretation of the diagrams obtained is discussed. By

Archaeal protein containing domain of unknown function 2193 undergoes oligomeric reconfiguration upon iron–sulfur cluster binding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This work presents the characterization of MvoDUF2193, a Methanococcus voltae (Mvo) protein from the domain of unknown function (DUF) 2193 family. We demonstrate that MvoDUF2193 binds a single [4Fe–4S] cluster per subunit and that cluster occupancy regulates the transition from an apo tetramer to a [4Fe–4S] monomeric form. This structural transition is

Functional role and folding properties of the glucan‐binding domain of oral bacterial glucansucrase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The role of the glucan‐binding domain in Streptococcus sobrinus glucansucrase was examined, focusing on its impact on enzymatic activity, dextran binding, and structural stability of deletion mutants and a circularly permuted protein. Our research revealed that glucosyl transfer efficiency is linked to cooperative interdomain folding.

Ergothioneine supplementation improves pup phenotype and survival in a murine model of spinal muscular atrophy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a genetic disease affecting motor neurons. Individuals with SMA experience mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of an antioxidant and neuroprotective substance, ergothioneine (ERGO), on an SMNΔ7 mouse model of SMA.
