Gas Turbine Compressor Unit Repowering [PDF]
This paper presents how a major U.S. gas transmission and storage company restored gas storage peaking capacity by repowering obsolete gas turbine compressor units. Consumers Power Company’s Ray Field located in Macomb County, Michigan, USA, was developed as a 44 BCF working capacity gas storage field in 1966.

Defects in Inorganic Mechanoluminescent Phosphors: Insights and Impacts
Mechanoluminescence is attracting more attention recently, and defect dominates mechanoluminescence performances. Investigating how defects work in the mechanoluminescence process is crucial for elucidating its complex luminescence mechanism. This review aims to emphasize the fundamental role of defects in mechanoluminescence, which offers an ...

Instability of multistage compressor K1501 [PDF]
The K1501 compressor, driven by a steam turbine, is used to transport synthetic gas in fertilizer plants of 1000 tons daily production. The turbo-compressor set, which had been in operation since 1982, vibrated rather intensely, and its maximum load was ...

Quantifying Electron and Ion Transfers in Contact Electrification with Ionomers
The concurrent existence of both electron and ion transfers in solid‐ionomer contact electrification is reported. The ion transfer contributes significantly to the process of contact electrification, especially at high humidity, although only less than 2% of ions participate in the ion transfer, suggesting that there is room for further performance ...

Cold-air performance of compressor-drive turbine of Department of Energy upgraded automobile gas turbine engine. 2: Stage performance [PDF]
The aerodynamic performance of the compressor-drive turbine of the DOE upgraded gas turbine engine was determined in low temperature air. The as-received cast rotor blading had a significantly thicker profile than design and a fairly rough surface finish.

The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Modulating Oxide‐Based Quantum Materials by Ion Implantation
This review highlights how ion implantation, a well developed chip‐technology, enables targeted modulation of oxide‐based quantum materials. This includes tuning of metal‐insulator transitions, magnetism, and superconductivity through selective doping, defect creation, and induced lattice strain. Abstract Ion implantation has emerged as a powerful tool
