Miniature, solid-state gas compressor

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1987
A concept for a miniature, solid-state gas compressor is examined. The device operates by the phased activation of voltage-driven, electrostrictive ceramic blocks along a compression channel wherein a confined elastomer provides a motion-amplifying medium for peristaltically closing the compression channel. The device is also self-valving.

Running Feed Gas Compressor without Atmospheric Gas

Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference, 2017
Abstract ADGAS LNG Plant 26 contains two identical multi-wheel single stage Centrifugal Compressors. Their function is to compress atmospheric gas from ADMA to 2.0 barg pressure. The compressor is designed for running parallel both, in load sharing mode by master pressure control to be able to maintain Atmospheric gas pressure at about ...

Performance of Hydraulic Gas Compressors

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1976
A hydraulic gas compressor has no moving parts and compresses gas at the expense of hydraulic energy by means of entrainment in a downward moving column of liquid with subsequent separation of gas and liquid at depth. Documentation is cited giving the history and performance data for large hydraulic air compressors built around 1900.

Gas Compressor Operations Performance Monitoring

Production and Operations Symposium, 2007
Abstract The economic benefits for efficient compressor operations have never been greater than they are today. High commodity prices for natural gas increases revenues for the gas producer, but the higher price for natural gas also makes the cost of equipment downtime more significant.

Pulsations in Gas-Compressor Systems

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1952
Abstract This paper presents the causes of pulsation, their effects on the piping and the compressor, and the methods by which pulsations can be reduced. By means of an analogy to electrical networks, the interaction between the compressor and the piping can be visualized more easily, and the action of the system can be expressed in ...

Compressor discharge gas sound attenuation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1992
A hermetic motor-compresosr having separate discharge cavities in the compressor body for each pumping cylinder, a common discharge gas plenum for the entire compressor, and an impedance tube between each cavity and said plenum, thereby signficantly improving the sound attentuation of discharge gas pulses.

Wet Gas Compressor Model Validation

Volume 9: Oil and Gas Applications; Supercritical CO2 Power Cycles; Wind Energy, 2019
Abstract The continuous demand for oil and gas forces the petroleum industry to develop new and cost-efficient technologies to increase recovery from new fields and enhance extraction from existing fields. Subsea wet gas compression stands out as a promising solution to increase field extraction, utilize remote regions and reduce costs.

Gas compressor skid wiring specifications

37th Annual Conference on Petroleum and Chemical Industry, 2002
The classification of areas for electrical installations requires consideration of all aspects of the construction and operation of the equipment involved. For something like a gas compressor skid, this means at least evaluating the mechanical process, gas process, and the electrical implications. If all these aspects are not considered, then those who

Gas Turbine Compressor Casing Repair

ASME 2005 Power Conference, 2005
Many older heavy duty gas turbine models have a very simple compressor casing design for attaching the stationary blades. It consists of grooves machined into a cast iron casing into which are slid blades with square bases. These bases have extending ears on two sides that engage undercut grooves in the main groove.

Gas Compressor Design & Operation

International Petroleum Exhibition and Technical Symposium, 1982
ABSTRACT Oil and gas production requires compression of gases involving considerable range of initial inlet and final discharge pressures as well as widely varying volumes. Frequently the applications are further complicated by the gas containing H2S or entrained liquids and equipment space/weight limitations imposed by offshore platform
