A Quantitative Evaluation of Shale Gas Content in Different Occurrence States of the Longmaxi Formation: A New Insight from Well JY‐A in the Fuling Shale Gas Field, Sichuan Basin

Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2019
Comprehensive quantitative evaluation of shale gas content and the controlling factors in different occurrence states is of great significance for accurately assessing gas‐bearing capacity and providing effective well‐production strategies.

Mineralogy and Gas Content of Upper Paleozoic Shanxi and Benxi Shale Formations in the Ordos Basin

Energy & Fuels, 2019
To directly measure the gas content in the Benxi and Shanxi subformations of the Ordos Basin in NW China, a series of canister desorption tests were carried out on 33 over-mature Lower Permian to U...

Radon Content of Soil Gas

Physics, 1932
An electroscope and technique for measuring the radon content of soil gas are described. Measurements were made to answer several questions regarding the radon content of soil gas. It was found that there is no systematic increase of radon content with depth of penetration into a soil, that soil formations appear to have more or less characteristic ...

A New Gas-Content-Evaluation Method for Organic-Rich Shale Using the Fractionation of Carbon Isotopes of Methane

SPE Journal, 2019
Gas content is a key parameter for the determination of the gas resources in unconventional reservoirs. In this study, we propose a novel method to evaluate the gas content of shale through a new perspective: fractionation of carbon isotopes of methane.

Gas content and age of tektites

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1951
Abstract The following experimental findings are discussed: (a) The gas content of bubbles present in tektites is extremely low; (b) tektites give off small amounts of CO 2 , CO, H 2 , and H 2 O when heated to approxi- mately 1200°C; (c) the low content of radiogenic argon permits an upper limit of the order of 10 7 years to be set for the age of ...

The Content of Galaxies: Stars and Gas

Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 1963
The stellar content of a galaxy is described by a br-variate freqrency function f(M,S), where M denotes absolute magnitude and S some definite measure of spectral type or color. The derivation and description of f(M,S), the spectrum-luminosity function, are discussed. Optical and radio studies of the gaseous content of galaxies are also considered. The

Gas content of binary clathrate hydrates with promoters

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2009
We develop a methodology to calculate the gas storage capacity of binary hydrates stabilized by promoters. This model utilizes equilibrium experimental data of both hydrates (i.e., the hydrate of pure promoter and the binary hydrate of gas and promoter) in order to calculate the gas occupancy in the small cavities that are not occupied by the promoter.

Associated petroleum gas measurement at low gas content using PIS method

, 2019
It is difficult to measure the amount of associated petroleum gas (APG) generated during the production of crude oil with low gas content. To solve this problem, a new method called phase-isolation and separation (PIS) method was developed.
