Performance of one-body reduced density matrix functionals for the homogeneous electron gas

open access: yes, 2007
The subject of this study is the exchange-correlation-energy functional of reduced density matrix functional theory. Approximations of this functional are tested by applying them to the homogeneous electron gas.

Gas exchange response to exercise in children.

open access: yesAmerican Review of Respiratory Disease, 2015
We measured the gas exchange response to exercise in 109 normal children (51 girls and 58 boys, ranging in age from 6 to 17 yr old) using noninvasive breath-by-breath techniques.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Engineering Porous Hollow Metal‐Poly(Heptazine Imide) Spheres: An Optimized Synthetic Strategy for Controlling Surface, Morphology, and Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hollow poly(heptazine imide) spheres are prepared through a novel approach that integrates hard templating with ionothermal synthesis. This method enables precise control over surface area, pore volume, hydrophilicity, light absorption, band position, and metal composition. These tunable properties facilitate the customized design of semiconductors for

Unassisted Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Production Coupled with Selective Glucose Oxidation Using Metal Halide Perovskite Photoanodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A metal halide perovskite‐based photoanode integrated with a CoNiFe layered double hydroxide (LDH) cocatalyst is reported for selective glucose oxidation reaction (GOR), achieving simultaneous and unassisted photoelectrochemical hydrogen production. This system delivers high photocurrent density, excellent Faradaic efficiency of GOR, and strong techno ...

Scattering in an environment

open access: yes, 2012
The cross section of elastic electron-proton scattering taking place in an electron gas is calculated within the Closed Time Path method. It is found to be the sum of two terms, one being the expression in the vacuum except that it involves dressing due ...

Kinetic Insights into Precursor‐Assisted Soft Sphere Close Packing Revealed by In Situ GISAXS with Implications for Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

Contrasting dynamics of leaf potential and gas exchange during progressive drought cycles and recovery in Amorpha fruticosa and Robinia pseudoacacia

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Leaf gas exchange is closely associated with water relations; however, less attention has been given to this relationship over successive drought events.
