Sidechain Modulation of Responsive Metal‐Organic Framework Pore Chirality for Enhanced Enantioseparation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
[Zn2(L‐ValPyr)2] is a chiral and flexible metal‐organic framework that places the isopropyl sidechains of L‐valine inside the pores, creating accessible space in the shape of a three‐blade propeller. The framework adapts its structure to position the substituted aromatic guests in its peripheral pockets through favorable interactions with the isopropyl

Effect of Foil Geometry on the Static Performance of Thrust Foil Bearings

open access: yes, 2017
Gas foil bearings use ambient air as working fluid, which forms the hydrodynamic wedge between the rotor surface and the compliant foil structure, therefore they are oil-free and environmental friendly.

Emerging Materials and Future Strategies for Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solid oxide electrochemical cells operate under strongly coupled electrochemical and thermodynamic conditions, where performance is constrained by interactions among crystal structure, defect chemistry, and interfacial evolution. This review, based on a structure‐defect‐property‐durability framework, reveals the roles of lattice symmetry and defect ...

NHC‐Copper(I)‐Mediated Functionalization of White Phosphorus

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
White phosphorus is functionalized by N‐heterocyclic carbene supported copper(I) complexes through redox‐neutral steps. Treatment of the resulting complexes with electrophiles releases the ligands from the metal center as asymmetrically substituted organophosphorus butterfly compounds.

STATIC AND DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF AIR FOIL THRUST BEARING CONSIDERING TILTING PAD CONDITION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The thrust pad of the rotor is used to sustain the axial force generated due to the pressure difference between the compressor and turbine sides of turbomachinery such as the gas turbines and turbochargers.

Fine Tuning of Catalyst Active Sites to Access Advanced Ultrahigh‐Melting Polyolefins

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A redesign of the active site of the pyridylamido hafnium (Hf) catalysts can enhance the performance of this catalyst family and unlock previously inaccessible polymer structures. When the catalyst is precontacted with allyltrimethylsilane the active species is modified and the catalyst experiences a new life becoming able to polymerize sterically ...

Ether‐Based Electrolytes and the Solvation Structure in Sodium Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Ether electrolytes enable high‐performance sodium‐ion batteries through their unique physicochemical properties, particularly distinctive solvation structures and co‐intercalation behavior. However, the localized solvation structure and its dynamic evolution during electrochemical processes remain a “black box”.
