SI‐bioATRP in Mesoporous Silica for Size‐Exclusion Driven Local Polymer Placement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An enzyme‐catalyzed surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐bioATRP) of an anionic monomer within mesoporous silica particles, using hemoglobin as a catalyst, allows for controlling the location of the formed polymer via size‐exclusion effects between the nanopores and the biomacromolecules, thereby opening routes to functional ...

Natural Structural Transition of Gas Hydrates From sI to sII in the Deep Seafloor

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
The evolution of gas hydrates influenced by the seawater environment is unknown. We present a model of structural transformation from sI hydrate to sII hydrate due to the influence of seawater environment and vent fluid in nature through in situ ...

Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

Gas hydrates in coal seams and their impact on gas-dynamic processes in underground mining

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2017
This paper deals with the development and analysis of the method of predicting gas-dynamic phenomena due to the gas hydrates in coal seams. With the help of the method of mathematical modelling the rate of dissociation of gas hydrates depending on the ...

Gas hydrate inhibition by perturbation of liquid water structure [PDF]

open access: yes
Natural gas hydrates are icy crystalline materials that contain hydrocarbons, which are the primary energy source for this civilization. The abundance of naturally occurring gas hydrates leads to a growing interest in exploitation.

Enhanced Nitric Oxide Electroreduction to Ammonia via Modulating Spin‐Polarization of Fe Single‐Atom Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A strategic spin‐polarization suppression in Fe single‐atom catalysts is proposed to enhance electrocatalytic reduction of NO to NH3. Employing a top‐down electrospinning strategy, self‐supported FeSAC with Fe‐N3S1 coordination structure and spin‐state transition is engineered from high‐spin to low‐spin.

Effect of CO2 Thickeners on CH4-CO2 Replacement in Hydrate-Bearing Sediment

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
CO2 fracturing is known as the best solution to improve the efficiency of the CO2 replacement of natural gas hydrates, but the effect of CO2 thickeners on CH4-CO2 replacement are barely noticed.
