Effect of Bevel Angle and Welding Current on T-Joint Using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)

2018
In this study, the effects of various welding parameters on welding strength in mild steel A36, welded by gas metal arc welding with fillet joint under 1F position were investigated. The welding current and the angle of bevel are the variable parameters, while welding speed was chosen as constant parameter.

Effect of Shielding Gas Mixture on Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of Low Carbon Steel (LR Grade A)

Key Engineering Materials, 2016
The aimed of this research is to determine the feasibility and effect of the mixture of the shielding gas in the physical and mechanical properties. Low carbon steel LR grade A in a thickness 12 mm were joined in butt joint types using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) with groove’s gap 5 mm and groove angle’s 400 with variation of shielding gas composition.

Estimation and control of droplet size and frequency in projected spray mode of a gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process

ISA Transactions, 2011
New estimators are designed based on the modified force balance model to estimate the detaching droplet size, detached droplet size, and mean value of droplet detachment frequency in a gas metal arc welding process. The proper droplet size for the process to be in the projected spray transfer mode is determined based on the modified force balance model

Experimental Investigation on AISI 304l & AISI 310 Alloys Welded by Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Process

Asian Review of Mechanical Engineering, 2014
In this research is to study the influence parameters affecting the mechanical property (microhardness) and optical investigation (microscopy) of austenitic stainless steel grade (AISI-304L& AISI-310) with Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). The research was applying the different values of wire speed and current for experiment, which have following ...

Neutron diffraction residual stress measurements of welds made with pulsed tandem gas metal arc welding (PT-GMAW)

Powder Diffraction, 2014
Pulsed tandem gas metal arc welding (PT-GMAW) is being developed to increase productivity and minimise weld-induced distortion in ship-building. The PT-GMAW process was used in pulse–pulse mode to butt-weld two different strength and thickness steels; the residual stress and hardness profiles of the welds are reported and correlated.

Follow-up Biomonitoring Study of Metal Exposure in Apprentice Welders in Montreal, Quebec, During Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)

Biological Trace Element Research
Welding activities are known to expose workers to metal fumes, but few studies have focused on assessing the internal exposure of apprentices in learning environments. This study aimed at determining internal doses of metals in apprentices performing gas metal arc welding (GMAW) during their training course.

Erratum to: Mechanisms of weld pool flow and slag formation location in cold metal transfer (CMT) gas metal arc welding (GMAW)

Welding in the World, 2017
This work investigates the weld pool flow behavior by observing the flow pattern of floating slag particles for cold metal transfer (CMT) gas metal arc welding (GMAW) using three different welding wires. These wires contain different amount of deoxidizers in the form of silicon and manganese.

Study of Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) Process

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
In this paper, the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process is studied and temperature field is gained in this process. Thermal effects of Gas Metal Arc (GMA) and temperature field from it on workpiece (copper) and shielding gas type, is the main key of process optimization for GMAW. Energy source properties of GMA strongly depend on physical property of a
