Application of Gas Spark Switch in Plasma Pulse Technology
2021 IEEE 4th International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC), 2021In this paper, the application of gas spark switch as a microsecond pulse source in plasma pulse technology is studied. The overall structure of the plasma pulse device is introduced, and the mechanism of each module is analyzed. The breakdown process of the gas spark switch is simulated numerically, and the distribution of plasma density at different ...

Gas Plasma Sterilization: Application of Space-Age Technology
Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, 1995Abstract Gas plasma sterilization is new to the healthcare field. The first such sterilizer has been manufactured by Advanced Sterilization Products (J&J, Irvine, CA). The system uses hydrogen peroxide as the substrate gas and radio frequency emissions to generate plasma. This system is a low-temperature, quick-acting process with

Non-Termal Plasma Technology for Gas Treatment
1999In this work, we report several new approaches of non-thermal plasma processing for the environment protection including dioxins (PCDDs+PCDFs) removal. Hybrid plasma reactors were tested for NOx removal, indoor pollutant and dioxin removal. The hybrid plasma system is the process which combines discharge plasma with catalyst or chemical scrubber.

Gas plasmas technology: from biomolecule redox research to medical therapy
Biochemical Society Transactions, 2023Physical plasma is one consequence of gas ionization, i.e. its dissociation of electrons and ions. If operated in ambient air containing oxygen and nitrogen, its high reactivity produces various reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) simultaneously.

Sterilization of Medical Products Using Gas Plasma Technology
2018Increasingly stringent rules governing the use of ethylene oxide have created an interest in developing alternative low-temperature sterilization technologies. One such technology uses low-temperature gas plasmas to kill microorganisms. This chapter describes low-temperature plasmas, basic plasma chemistry, the equipment used to create plasmas, and the

Conversion of natural gas to C2 hydrocarbons via cold plasma technology
Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry, 2010Abstract The plasma technology served as a tool in unconventional catalysis has been used in natural gas conversion, because the traditional catalytic methane oxidative coupling reaction must be performed at high temperature on account of the stability of methane molecule. The focus of this research is to develop a process of converting methane to C2
