Numerical Simulation and Aerodynamic Optimization of Two-Stage Axial High-Pressure Turbine Blades [PDF]
Gas turbine engines are highly efficient and powerful because of their high-pressure turbines (HPTs). Furthermore, stationary blades shape and prepare high-pressure gas for efficient utilization by moving blades. Consequently, optimizing the geometric features of both stationary and moving blades during the first and second stages of HPT is necessary ...

Closing the Carbon Cycle in Plasma‐Based CO2 Splitting – A Techno‐Economic Perspective
This techno‐economic analysis examines the influence of CO₂ supply costs on plasma‐based power‐to‐liquid systems. In three defined scenarios for further plasma development, net production costs of marine diesel between 2.6 and 3.7 EUR L−1 are achieved. Cheaper green electricity could reduce these net production costs to 1.6 EUR L−1.

Additives in Biphasic Hydroformylation: An Analysis of the Influence of the Interfacial Area
Optimizing homogeneous biphasic hydroformylation offers significant potential for improving chemical efficiency by use of additives or by investigating different stirrer and reactor designs. Traditionally, efforts have focused on conversion rates and selectivity, but advanced techniques such as high‐pressure borescopy now allow detailed in‐situ ...

Root causes for corrosion on painted steel structures in marine environments
Marine steel structures protected by organic coatings start to corrode when the coating fails. This investigation shows that most of the corrosion attacks found on four different structures were related to weaknesses in the coating related to the application. Low film thickness over edges and welds accounts for more than 50% of the corrosion attacks on

CO2‐Based Fischer‐Tropsch Synthesis Toward Aviation Fuel Components Using a Na‐Promoted Fe Catalyst
A Na‐promoted Fe catalyst was investigated to produce liquid hydrocarbons using CO2‐based Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis. As a result of a systematic variation of operation parameters, 49 wt % of the organic liquid was promising as sustainable aviation fuel. Abstract The CO2‐based Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis toward liquid hydrocarbons was investigated using a

Pressure gain combustion for gas turbines: Analysis of a fully coupled engine model [PDF]
The ``Shockless Explosion Combustion" (SEC) concept for gas turbine combustors, introduced in 2014, approximates constant volume combustion (CVC) by harnessing acoustic confinement of autoigniting gas packets. The resulting pressure waves simultaneously transmit combustion energy to a turbine plenum and facilitate the combustor's recharging against an ...
