Water‐Borne Erosion of Reinforced Polymer Composites: Application to Shallow Offshore Marine Environment

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Comparison of experimental and model‐predicted erosion rates for carbon fibre‐reinforced polymer (CFRP) and glass fibre‐reinforced polymer (GFRP) under low‐velocity (2 m/s) and at varying angles and sand concentrations (0.0, 0.05, 0.4 g/L). The results demonstrate good agreement between experimental data and model predictions across different erosive ...

Impacts of the renewable energy transition on global plant diversity: A review

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
People and nature need a renewable energy transition to help address the growing, and catastrophic, effects of climate change. A sustainable energy transition involves rigorously examining the potential impacts on nature – including plant life – and creating pathways for impact mitigation that strike a clear balance between energy production and ...

Turbulence‐resolving simulations of Hurricane Laura (2020): Insights into extreme winds and eyewall turbulence

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Using high‐resolution turbulence‐resolving simulations, we analyze the wind structure in the eyewall of Hurricane Laura (2020) and validate the results with observational data. Our findings show significant variations in wind speed and turbulence, especially above 50 m.

The Consequences of France's Return to Nuclear on Sustainable Development: Moderating Role of Energy R&D Budget and Renewable Energy

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The energy sector is one of the main industries that causes environmental degradation. To achieve the objectives of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG7 and SDG13), countries strive to expand the country's low‐carbon (renewable and nuclear) energy transition.

Climate Change and Energy Security Risk: Do Green Patents, Institutional Quality, and Human Capital Make a Difference?

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate change poses a significant threat to global energy security, yet the mechanisms through which this relationship unfolds—and the factors that buffer their adverse impacts—remain underexplored. This study examines the link between climate change, proxied by CO2 emissions, and energy security risk (ESR), with a particular focus on the ...
