Importance of Gaseous Elemental Mercury Fluxes in Western Maryland [PDF]
The purpose of this study was to increase our understanding of the gaseous elemental mercury (GEM, Hg°) fluxes between the atmosphere and soils. Moreover, we wanted to quantify the annual GEM flux, identify the controls, and compare the GEM flux to ...

Fluxes of Gaseous Elemental Mercury on a Mediterranean Coastal Grassland [PDF]
Coastal rural areas can be a source of elemental mercury, but the potential influence of their topographic and climatic particularities on gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) fluxes have not been investigated extensively.

Tree Rings Mercury Controlled by Atmospheric Gaseous Elemental Mercury and Tree Physiology. [PDF]
Tree rings are an emerging atmospheric mercury (Hg) archive. Questions have arisen, though, regarding their mechanistic controls and reliability. Here, we report contrasting tree-ring Hg records in three collocated conifer species: Norway spruce (), Scots pine (), and European larch (), which are from a remote boreal forest.

Health risk assessment of gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) in Mexico City. [PDF]
Emissions of gaseous elemental mercury (GEM or Hg0) from different sources in urban areas are important subjects for environmental investigations. In this study, atmospheric Hg measurements were conducted to investigate air pollution in the urban environment by carrying out several mobile surveys in Mexico City.

Gaseous elemental and reactive mercury in Southern New Hampshire [PDF]
We conducted measurements of Hg0 and RGM at two inland sites, Thompson Farm (TF) and Pac Monadnock (PM), and a marine site (Appledore Island (AI)) from the UNH AIRMAP observing network in New Hampshire in 2007.

Vertical distribution of gaseous elemental mercury in Canada [PDF]
Measurements of gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) were made in three locations in Canada at altitudes from 0.1 to 7 km. In the summer in southeastern Canada, northwesterly winds bring air with a constant mixing ratio of GEM at altitudes up to 7 km, with a concentration near 1.5 nanograms per standard cubic meter of air (ng sm−3).
