Underground Hydrogen Storage: Steady-State Measurement of Hydrogen–Brine Relative Permeability with Gas Slip Correction

open access: yesGases
Large-scale underground hydrogen storage in saline aquifers requires an understanding of hydrogen–brine two-phase flow properties, particularly relative permeability, which influences reservoir injectivity and hydrogen recovery.

The marginal costs of climate changing emissions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents the marginal costs of the emissions of a selected number of radiatively-active gases, three uniformly-mixed gases – carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide – and two region-specific gases – nitrogen (from aircraft) and sulphur, which ...

Fermi-Bose Correspondence and Bose-Einstein Condensation in The Two-Dimensional Ideal Gas

open access: yes, 2003
The ideal uniform two-dimensional (2D) Fermi and Bose gases are considered both in the thermodynamic limit and the finite case. We derive May's Theorem, viz.

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Density and Viscosity of CO2 Binary Mixtures with SO2, H2S, and CH4 Impurities: Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Thermodynamic Model Validation

open access: yesGases
The aim of this study is to generate density and viscosity data for carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) mixtures using equilibrium molecular dynamics (EMD) simulations.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Modeling of Greenhouse Gases Emissions from Hong Kong’s Air Transport Industry: 2011 to 2030

open access: yesGases
The air transport industry has played a crucial role in Hong Kong’s economic growth. However, aircraft operations produce a considerable volume of greenhouse gases emissions.

Construction of abatement cost curves: The case of F-gases [PDF]

open access: yes
Most of scientific research on Greenhouse Gases (GHG) focuses on CO2 emissions. But non-CO2 gases (mainly F-gases in the form of HFCs, PFCs, and SF6) are more potent at trapping heat within the atmosphere. Currently, F-gases constitute a small proportion

Effect of Oxygen Content on Surface and Subsurface Integrity During Turning of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how oxygen content in the ambient atmosphere affects the surface and subsurface properties of Ti–6Al–4V during turning. Results show that oxygen does not influence surface roughness. However, machining in an extremely high vacuum‐adequate atmosphere increases surface hardness by up to 7.8% and induces compressive residual stresses ...

Study on the Temporal and Spatial Migration Patterns of Blast Smoke in the Mining Area and Optimization of Effective Range

open access: yesGases
To prevent toxic and harmful gas suffocation accidents in underground metal mine stopes, the Fluent numerical simulation method was employed to investigate the wind field distribution patterns and the diffusion laws of blasting fumes in stopes with and ...
