Fractionation of coal through organo-separative refining for enhancing its potential for the CO2-gasification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology, 2020
Coal gasification has already been extensively studied earlier under varying conditions of steam, CO2, O2, inert conditions. Belbaid coal and its e, N and NMP-DETA SCC products recovered through organo-refining under milder ambient pressure conditions ...

Review of recent advances in the design, synthesis, and modification of biochar for remediation of heavy metal pollution in water

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Research frontiers in using biochar for heavy metal remediation. Abstract Heavy metal contamination of water has long been a serious environmental issue. Biochar and biochar‐based composites are emerging as effective and sustainable solutions for heavy metal removal due to their strong adsorption abilities and environmentally friendly nature.

Corn cob pyrolysis: A systematic literature review of methods and applications

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Mapping the research landscape of corn cob pyrolysis. Abstractas The agricultural sector is experiencing a surge in waste generation due to population growth, creating an urgent need to convert byproducts into value‐added products. Maize (Zea mays L.), a leading global crop, produces significant byproducts, such as corn cob, which are often undervalued.

Considerations on coal gasification [PDF]

open access: yes
Commercial processes for the gasification of coal with oxygen are discussed. The Koppers-Totzek process for the gasification of coal dust entrained in a stream of gasifying agents is described in particular detail.

UiO‐Based Mixed Matrix Membranes for Efficient CO2 Separations

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Pebax‐based mixed matrix membrane incorporating UiO‐type metal‐organic frameworks are developed for CO2 separations. Defect engineering and optimized dispersion enhanced CO2 sorption and transport pathways, significantly improving permeability while maintaining high selectivity over CH4 and H2.

Gasification of the Char Residues with High Ash Content by Carbon Dioxide

open access: yesEnergies
To increase the carbon conversion of char in gasification, this paper aimed to reveal the gasification behaviours of char residues. Char residues with different ash contents in this work were prepared from Shenmu char and Tejing char. Those char residues

Sustainable Hydrogen Production by Glycerol and Monosaccharides Catalytic Acceptorless Dehydrogenation (AD) in Homogeneous Phase

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Sustainable hydrogen production can be obtained from hydogen‐rich biomass‐derived organic molecules through Acceptorless Dehydrogenation (AD) reactions. Glycerol and sugars are available in large quantities from industry and can be successfully used as substrates in AD protocols, in the presence of tailored, selective, easily tunable and thermally ...
