The essence of gasification is the conversion of solid carbon to combustible carbon monoxide by thermochemical reactions of a fuel. Complete gasification comprises all the processes which convert the solid fuel into a gaseous and liquid product leaving only parts of the mineral constitutents of the fuel as a residue.

Collection of Technical Papers. 35th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference and Exhibit (IECEC) (Cat. No.00CH37022), 2000
An experimental study was conducted to verify the feasibility of converting waste newspaper into a combustible gas. The gasification process was selected as the focus of this study because of its portability. Based on available information written about Swedish wood and charcoal gas generators used during World War II, a downdraft, fixed-bed, Imbert ...

Gasific: A Python Tool for Biomass Gasification Process
2022Biomass gasification and the production of syngas are important in the production of biohydrogen, a green fuel and an energy carrier for the fuel cell. The tool for the prediction of biohydrogen production from any biomass should be readily available to determine the viability of such biomass for gasification.

Biomass and Waste Gasification
2012The potential of biomass as an abundant and distributed source of energy has been extensively investigated in the last decades; this growing interest is due to the increasing attention to avoid greenhouse gases accumulating in the atmosphere. Among available biomass thermal conversion processes, the most feasible option, closest to industrial ...

The design and operation of a gasifier require an understanding of the gasification process and how its configuration, size,f eedstock, and operating parameters influence the performance of the plant. A good comprehension of the basic reactions is fundamental to the planning, design, operation, troubleshooting, and process improvement of a gasification

Comparison between Wood Gasification and Densified Briquettes Gasification
1988Gasification tests have been carried out on wood chips, blocks and briquettes, at the CRA, in order to compare their behaviour in two gas producers and to fix the use limits of these different fuels.
