Investigation into SI engine performance characteristics and emissions fuelled with ethanol/butanol-gasoline blends

, 2019
The detrimental environmental impacts of the use of conventional fuels, both gasoline and diesel, have spurred researchers to seek alternative fuels that minimize these environmental impacts and risks.

Impact of exhaust gas recirculation on ignition delay times of gasoline fuel: An experimental and modeling study

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2019
The ignition delay times of a research grade gasoline, RON95E10, are measured in a rapid compression machine and in a shock tube. The experiments are carried out for fuel/O2/Ar/N2 mixtures with two equivalence ratios of 0.77 and 1.18 at pressures between

The Changes of Gasoline Compounds in Blood in a Case of Gasoline Intoxication

Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1992
A 44 year-old man, found in his gasoline vapor filled car, died of multiple organ failure on d 9. Blood samples from d 2-7 were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The estimated half-lives of gasoline, toluene, ethylbenzene, m,p-xylene, and o-xylene were 16.9, 21.4, 27.5, 32.8, and 25.8 h respectively.

Gasoline Immersion Injury

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1981
Chemical burns and pulmonary complications are the most common problems encountered in the patient immersed in gasoline. Our patient demonstrated a 46-percent total-body-surface area, partial-thickness chemical burn. Although he did not develop bronchitis or pneumonitis, he did display persistent atelectasis, laryngeal edema, and subsequent upper ...

A comparative study on effects of homogeneous or stratified hydrogen on combustion and emissions of a gasoline/hydrogen SI engine

International journal of hydrogen energy, 2019
A comparative study on effects of homogeneous or stratified hydrogen on combustion and emissions was presented for a gasoline/hydrogen SI engine. Three kinds of injection modes (gasoline, gasoline plus homogeneous hydrogen and gasoline plus stratified ...

Gasoline addiction in children

Psychiatric Quarterly, 1961
Three cases of addiction to the inhalation of gasoline fumes are presented with a discussion of the physiological and dynamic factors involved in such cases. It is believed that the statistical incidence of this behavior is much higher than commonly assumed, but no accurate figures are available because of the lack of an adequate investigation.

Experimental investigations of noise and vibration characteristics of gasoline-methanol blend fuelled gasoline direct injection engine and their relationship with combustion characteristics

Applied Thermal Engineering, 2019
Engine noise and vibrations are influenced by engine’s combustion characteristics in addition to contributions from moving components. Combustion characteristics in-turn depend on various parameters such as fuel type, engine load, engine speed, spark ...

Gasoline

2000
Abstract Gasoline is produced from light distillates during fractionation of petroleum; its main components are paraffins, olefins, naphthalenes, and aromatic hydrocarbons, including toluene. Ethyl alcohol is added in some instances. The threshold limit value set by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists is 330 ...
