The ignition delay times of a research grade gasoline, RON95E10, are measured in a rapid compression machine and in a shock tube. The experiments are carried out for fuel/O2/Ar/N2 mixtures with two equivalence ratios of 0.77 and 1.18 at pressures between

The Changes of Gasoline Compounds in Blood in a Case of Gasoline Intoxication
Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1992A 44 year-old man, found in his gasoline vapor filled car, died of multiple organ failure on d 9. Blood samples from d 2-7 were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The estimated half-lives of gasoline, toluene, ethylbenzene, m,p-xylene, and o-xylene were 16.9, 21.4, 27.5, 32.8, and 25.8 h respectively.

Chemical burns and pulmonary complications are the most common problems encountered in the patient immersed in gasoline. Our patient demonstrated a 46-percent total-body-surface area, partial-thickness chemical burn. Although he did not develop bronchitis or pneumonitis, he did display persistent atelectasis, laryngeal edema, and subsequent upper ...

Gasoline addiction in children
Psychiatric Quarterly, 1961Three cases of addiction to the inhalation of gasoline fumes are presented with a discussion of the physiological and dynamic factors involved in such cases. It is believed that the statistical incidence of this behavior is much higher than commonly assumed, but no accurate figures are available because of the lack of an adequate investigation.

Abstract Gasoline is produced from light distillates during fractionation of petroleum; its main components are paraffins, olefins, naphthalenes, and aromatic hydrocarbons, including toluene. Ethyl alcohol is added in some instances. The threshold limit value set by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists is 330 ...
