Business Model and Sustainable Development Goals for an Innovative Agricultural Waste Management: Distributed Biogas Production

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Technological progress and population growth have increased global pork demand; leading to a rise of methane emission from pig farming, a key contributor to climate change. Anaerobic digestion offers a sustainable solution by converting manure into biogas.

National Policy Coherence Counts for Reducing Inequality in Global Climate and Development Agendas

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT International institutions promote policy coherence as crucial to the effective and fair implementation of global sustainability agendas, though the evidence for its benefits is slim. We present here the first systematic cross‐country dataset on the consequences of national government efforts to promote policy coherence for vulnerable groups ...

Expansion of the Brazilian Sugarcane Bioenergy System Promotes Greenhouse Emission Reductions and Sustainable Development Without Compromising Food Security

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The growing global demand for biofuels has raised concern about compromising food security. This study uses two independent economy‐wide models to evaluate the impact of expanding the Brazilian sugarcane bioenergy system on economic growth, social outcomes and food security.

Who Knows, Cares and Acts for Sustainability in Times of Uncertainty? Demographic Differences in Perceived Knowledge, Concerns, and Pro‐Environmental Behaviors

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 2026, some years after the Covid‐19 pandemic and the related economic crisis, the global landscape remains profoundly unsettled. Geopolitical conflicts, such as the war between Russia and Ukraine and the Middle East conflicts, continue to drive instability, reshaping global priorities and challenges.

Application of Circular Economy Principles to Power Generation: Extending the Life of A Hydropower Plant by Pumped Hydro Energy Storage

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The application of circular economy, which aims to maximize efficiency and reduce waste, to renewable energy sources necessitates, given the intermittent nature of the latter, robust energy storage solutions to ensure grid stability and avoid wasting energy.

Resource redeployment as an entry advantage in resource‐poor settings

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Scarcity of productive factors poses a challenge for firms entering underdeveloped regions. We theorize that incumbent firms can overcome scarcity of skilled human capital in local labor markets by redeploying workers from existing units.

Reconfiguration of Localized Ruthenium Surface via Incorporating Single Platinum Atoms for Favorable Hydrogen Oxidation Catalysis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The introduction of a Pt single atom changes the Ru surface structure and results in the reconstruction of the active sites for hydrogen and CO oxidation catalysis. With a Pt loading of only 1 wt.%, RuPtSA exhibited superior HOR activity and resistance to impurities compared to commercial Pt catalysts in both acid and alkaline electrolytes.
