Trainee performance in radical gastrectomy and its effect on outcomes. [PDF]
BJS Open, 2020 This study of 272 D2 gastrectomies investigated whether trainee involvement was associated with adverse outcomes. No significant difference in morbidity, mortality, operating time, number of nodes resected, hospital stay or predicted 5‐year survival was noted, demonstrating that outcomes are not compromised by supervised trainee involvement.
