We have evaluated interinstitutional variation to verify the generalization and standardization of gastric cancer surgery from a supplementary analysis of the randomized phase III trial JCOG1001. Although there was some degree of interinstitutional variation in short‐ and long‐term outcomes after standard gastric surgery, we found no correlation ...

ABSTRACT Aim To investigate the factors associated with BWL after gastrectomy using data from the phase III trial (JCOG1001). Methods This post hoc analysis included 728 patients from the JCOG1001. The percentage of BWL (%BWL) was defined as the proportion of decrease in body weight immediately before adjuvant chemotherapy initiation compared with that

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for large superficial non‐ampullary duodenal epithelial tumors (SNADETs) poses substantial technical challenges, primarily because of a heightened risk of adverse events (AEs). Laparoscopic and endoscopic cooperative surgery (D‐LECS) was introduced to address these risks, with recent ...

The Usefulness of Short-Type Single Balloon Enteroscope for Successful Pancreato-Biliary Cannulation During Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography in Patients With Roux-en-Y Gastrectomy: A Comparative Study With Short-Type Double-balloon Enteroscope. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Objectives The retroflex position is crucial for the success of pancreato‐biliary cannulation in patients with Roux‐en‐Y gastrectomy (RYG). We aimed to investigate the factors associated with forming the retroflex position in patients with RYG, including short‐type single‐balloon enteroscope (sSBE) and short‐type double‐balloon enteroscope ...

ABSTRACT Aim Spigelman stage IV duodenal polyposis (SP‐stage IV DP) is associated with high duodenal cancer risk in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). This study evaluated the surgical and oncological outcomes of pancreas‐sparing total duodenectomy (PSTD) as a surgical prophylaxis for severe duodenal polyposis in FAP.

This retrospective study investigated risk factors for anastomotic stricture and obstructive symptoms following double‐flap technique (DFT) reconstruction after proximal gastrectomy. Mucosal detachment, potentially caused by thermal damage, was identified as a significant risk factor for anastomotic stricture, while continuous suturing at the esophago ...
