Pseudoweb of the gastric antrum in infants
Pediatric Radiology, 1980Two infant boys, one 3 months of age and the other 8 weeks of age, with symptoms suggesting gastric outlet obstruction had upper gastrointestinal fluororadiographic examinations which showed typical signs for gastric antral webs (diaphragms or membranes), but neither had actual webs as proven by surgery in one and by endoscopy in the other.

The Clinical Aspect of Retained Gastric Antrum
Archives of Surgery, 1986Thirty symptomatic patients with retained gastric antrum proved pathologically and/or by isotopic visualization were studied and treated from 1968 to 1983. The latent periods from the antral exclusion to the occurrence of anastomotic ulcers after a subtotal gastrectomy with Billroth's type II reconstruction varied from a few days to 19 years, with an ...

Control of Gastric Secretion by the Antrum
Archives of Surgery, 1959Although many theories have been advanced to explain the etiology of duodenal ulcer, there is ample evidence that this is an acid-engendered disease. Patients with duodenal ulcer secrete excessive quantities of acid, both by day and by night, and the gastric and duodenal pH is significantly lower than that of the nonulcer patient.

Shrinkage of the Gastric Antrum following Gastroenterostomy
Scottish Medical Journal, 1981Radiological and endoscopic shrinkage of the antrum of the stomach may occur in the elderly and following gastroenterostomy. We describe this in 18 subjects, of whom 17 had a gastroenterostomy with or without vagotomy. Shrinkage can appear within two years of operation and is usually associated with a well-functioning stoma.

Endoscopic Diagnosis of the Excluded Gastric Antrum
Endoscopy, 1987A 69-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with GI haemorrhage. Twenty-two years previously, she had had a Billroth II operation to treat a duodenal ulcer. A gastroscopy performed on admission showed two ulcers on the anastomotic crest. We were able to visualize all of the blind duodenal pouch and how in the proximal end the mucosa was prominent ...
