Electrical arrhythmias in gastric antrum of the dog
American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1980Antral electrical arrhythmias were investigated in 32 unanesthetized chronic dog preparations implanted with serosal electrodes and transducers. Five of these animals underwent surgical removal of the duodenal cap and the adjacent hypomuscular segment.

Radiology, 1987Fine transverse folds of the esophagus are well described as a transient motor phenomenon seen in patients with or without gastroesophageal reflux. They appear to be due to contraction of the muscularis mucosa and are thought to have little, if any, significance.

Archives of Surgery, 1953AS EARLY as 1906, Edkins 1 reported that the intravenous administration of extracts of the mucous membrane of the antrum of the stomach stimulated gastric secretion, whereas similar extracts made from other parts of the stomach had little or no effect.
