The Effect of Pancreatic Fistula on Gastric Secretion
Archives of Surgery, 1959Zollinger and Ellison first called attention to instances of recurrent peptic ulceration associated with islet cell tumors of the pancreas. 1 These were characterized by hyperacidity and hypersecretion of acid gastric juice and not controlled by vagotomy and extensive gastric resection.

A chronic gastric fistula for rats
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1964We tested various kinds of gastric fistulae (for rats) made of different materials, and a sturdy model was designed capable of functioning for many months. Its main part consisted of polythene “feet” placed between the serous coat and the internal surface of the abdominal wall.

Influence of a Jejunal Fistula on Gastric Emptying
European Surgical Research, 1987The aim was to determine whether a proximal jejunal fistula would speed gastric emptying after truncal vagotomy and Roux distal gastrectomy. Eight vagotomy-gastrectomy dogs were studied; 4 had a jejunal fistula, and 4 other dogs without a fistula served as controls.

Gastrojejunal fistula caused by gastric ulcer
Journal of Gastroenterology, 1998We report a case of gastrojejunal fistula caused by benign gastric ulcer, a very rare condition. The patient was an 81-year-old-woman who had had multiple recurrences of gastric ulcer. She also had diabetes mellitus. She was admitted to our hospital because of a left femoral head fracture, necessitating a mechanical bone head exchange operation.

Gastric and duodenal fistulas in Crohn's disease
Gastroenterology, 1985We report gastric or duodenal fistulas in 6 patients with Crohn's colitis or ileocolitis. Two patients had duodenocolic fistulas, 1 had a duodenoileal fistula, 2 had gastrocolic fistulas, and 1 had gastric and duodenal fistulas from an ileocolic anastomosis. In each case the fistula originated from the lower bowel segment, and no patient in this series

Spontaneous Resolution of Pancreatic Gastric Fistula
Digestive Diseases and Sciences, 2007Pancreatic pseudocyst is one of the common complications of acute and chronic pancreatitis and has variable natural history. We present a case of spontaneous resolution of a pancreatic pseudocyst with gastric connection. This case presented a 46-year-old man with a pancreatic pseudocyst resulting from a complication of acute pancreatitis. This resolved

Gastric fistulas in Crohn's disease
Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, 1989Nine cases of gastric fistula occurring in patients with Crohn's disease were treated at The Mount Sinai Hospital over the past three decades. Six cases were found in a review of 1480 patients with Crohn's disease admitted between 1960 and 1983. Three others seen at this institution outside the time frame of the author's study have also been included ...

Shock predictability and gastric secretion in the chronic gastric fistula rat
Physiology & Behavior, 1973Abstract In Experiment 1 rats exposed to unpredictable grid shock demonstrated a significant decrease in gastric secretion and total acid output as compared to rats exposed to predictable shock and rats exposed only to the tone stimulus. In Experiment 2 rats were immobilized in restraint cages.
