Intrauterine gastric perforation
Pediatric Surgery International, 2006We describe a case of intrauterine gastric perforation in a 31-week gestational age baby girl. The patient presented at birth with abdominal distension, respiratory distress, and massive pneumoperitoneum on radiography. The perforation was managed by resuscitation, celiotomy, and gastrostomy tube placement through the site of perforation.

Endoscopy, 1996Penetration of the pericardium and heart is a very rare complication of benign peptic ulcer. The case is reported here of a 76-year-old woman with advanced senile dementia, who was admitted due to melena. Endoscopy revealed a large gastric ulcer located in a giant hiatal hernia.

GASTRIC PERFORATION IN THE NEWBORN INFANT
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1959Perforation of the stomach wall in the new-born infant was first described by Siebold in 1825, and 81 cases have since been reported. Mortality is 81 %. Peptic ulceration was initially considered the cause of perforation, but congenital defects of the stomach wall and other etiological factors have now been defined.
