Roux‐en‐Y Reconstruction After Esophagectomy for Postoperative Functional Complaints: A Case Series

Functional complaints affect half of esophagectomy patients, with no standard treatment. In nine patients, Roux‐en‐Y reconstruction for obstruction, redundant conduit, and weight loss was safely performed, with one major complication and no Grade 4 out of five events. Complete symptom resolution reached 67% at 3 months and 89% at 1 year.

Pathophysiology of Delayed Gastric Conduit Emptying After Oesophagectomy: A Multicentre Cohort Study

In this multicentre study of 272 patients, early and late delayed gastric conduit emptying after oesophagectomy emerged as distinct phenotypes. Early DGCE was predicted by open surgery, whereas late DGCE was predicted by GOJ tumour location and postoperative complications.
