NAADF: Globally Illuminated Voxel Worlds Accelerated with Nested Axis‐Aligned Distance Fields
Abstract Achieving realistic rendering of 3D scenes in real time using path tracing is challenging due to the high sample count required, with ray tracing as the bottleneck. Focusing on voxels as a geometry representation offers significant opportunities for optimizations, especially for tracing the rays, but also for computing the samples.

ABSTRACT Aims The association between glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonist (GLP‐1RA) use and the development of bowel obstruction/ileus remains unclear, and evidence for specific bowel obstruction/ileus subtypes remains limited. We examined the association between GLP‐1RA use and the incidence of bowel obstruction/ileus subtypes across different ...

ABSTRACT Objective Although concerns have been raised that glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1RAs) may increase the risk of bowel obstruction or ileus, evidence remains inconclusive. In this context of uncertainty, we examined the frequency and determinants of GLP‐1RA discontinuation after hospitalization for bowel obstruction/ileus ...

ABSTRACT Intra‐abdominal hemorrhage is an extremely rare complication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). We report a case of intra‐abdominal bleeding that occurred after ERCP for choledocholithiasis with cholangitis in a patient with a cascade stomach.

ABSTRACT Objectives Endoscopic detorsion is the first‐line treatment for sigmoid volvulus (SV); however, detorsion is not always successful. We evaluated clinical outcomes after failed endoscopic detorsion and assessed recurrence in patients who achieved clinical success after decompression.

Systematic investigation of gastrointestinal diseases in China (SILC): validation of survey methodology [PDF]
Background: Symptom-based surveys suggest that the prevalence of gastrointestinal diseases is lower in China than in Western countries. The aim of this study was to validate a methodology for the epidemiological investigation of gastrointestinal symptoms

Superior outcomes of decompression with an interlaminar dynamic device versus decompression alone in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis and back pain: a cross registry study. [PDF]
INTRODUCTION Surgical decompression for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) has been associated with poorer outcomes in patients with pronounced low back pain (LBP) as compared to patients with predominant leg pain.
