The CDI incidence in RICU patients was very high, and male sex might be a risk factor. CDI was not associated with the 60‐day mortality rate if diagnosed and treated early enough, but prolonged the hospital stay. The CDI group had a lower oxygenation index; higher rates of vasopressors and analgesic drugs.
