On the Gauge Fixing in the Hamiltonian Analysis of General Teleparallel Theories [PDF]

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
The covariant formulation of teleparallel gravity theories must include the spin connection, which has 6 degrees of freedom. One can, however, always choose a gauge such that the spin connection is put to zero. In principle this gauge may affect counting

Gauge Fixing and the Semiclassical Interpretation of Quantum Cosmology [PDF]

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 2019
We make a critical review of the semiclassical interpretation of quantum cosmology and emphasise that it is not necessary to consider that a concept of time emerges only when the gravitational field is (semi)classical.

Lattice gauge fixing for parameter dependent covariant gauges [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2000
We propose a non-perturbative procedure to fix generic covariant gauges on the lattice. Varying the gauge parameter, this gauge fixing provides a concrete method to check numerically the gauge dependence of correlators measured on the lattice. The new algorithm turns out to converge with a good efficiency.

Code deformation and lattice surgery are gauge fixing [PDF]

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
The large-scale execution of quantum algorithms requires basic quantum operations to be implemented fault-tolerantly. The most popular technique for accomplishing this, using the devices that can be realized in the near term, uses stabilizer codes which ...

Two-loop effective potential for generalized gauge fixing [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2018
We obtain the two-loop effective potential for general renormalizable theories, using a generalized gauge-fixing scheme that includes as special cases the background-field $R_\xi$ gauges, the Fermi gauges, and the familiar Landau gauge, and using ...

Gauge Fixing the Standard Model Effective Field Theory. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
We gauge-fix the standard model effective field theory in a manner invariant under background-field gauge transformations using a geometric description of the field connections.

Preconditioning Maximal Center Gauge with Stout Link Smearing in SU(3) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Center vortices are studied in SU(3) gauge theory using Maximal Center Gauge (MCG) fixing. Stout link smearing and over-improved stout link smearing are used to construct a preconditioning gauge field transformation, applied to the original gauge field ...

Gauge fixing, canonical forms, and optimal truncations in tensor networks with closed loops [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical review B, 2018
We describe an approach to fix the gauge degrees of freedom in tensor networks, including those with closed loops, which allows a canonical form for arbitrary tensor networks to be realized.
