Linear difference equations, frieze patterns, and the combinatorial Gale transform

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2014
We study the space of linear difference equations with periodic coefficients and (anti)periodic solutions. We show that this space is isomorphic to the space of tame frieze patterns and closely related to the moduli space of configurations of points in ...

On the Gauss map of $B$-scrolls

open access: yesTsukuba Journal of Mathematics, 1998
Let \(M\) be a ruled surface in the 3-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space \({\mathbb L}^3\) defined by \(X(s,t)=x(s)+tB(s)\), where \((x , F)\) is a null curve with frame \(F=\{A,B,C\}\). \(M\) is called a B-scroll if \(F\) is a Cartan frame, i.e., \(A, B, C\) are vector fields along \(x\) in \({\mathbb L}^3\) satisfying the conditions \(\langle A, A ...

Metasurfaces and Metadevices for Topological Electromagnetic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Optical topologies refer to diverse topological localized structures made by diverse parameters of light fields, such as vortices, skyrmions, and hopfions. This article navigates a direction of metasurface‐based integrated devices for generation, manipulation and detection of novel topologies of light, which would be a rapidly growing interdisciplinary

Hypersurfaces with planar lines of curvature in Euclidean Space

open access: yesSelecciones Matemáticas, 2017
In this work, we present explicit parameterizations of hypersurfaces parameterized by lines of curvature with prescribed Gauss map and we characterize the hypersurfaces with planar curvature lines.

Magnetic Field‐Modulated Boolean Logic in Proteinoid‐ Fe3 O4 Hybrid Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Proteinoid‐Fe3O4${\rm Fe}_3{\rm O}_4$. nanoparticle composites exhibit spontaneous electrical oscillations that emulate Boolean logic gates (AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR, NOT) under magnetic field modulation. External fields of 65.103 mT tune oscillatory behavior: 84 mT enhances amplitude while 103 mT suppresses it.

A special case of rational θs for terminating θ-expansions [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2013
There have been quite a few generalizations of the usual continued fraction expansions over the last few years. One very special generalization deals with θ-continued fraction expansions or simply θ-expansions introduced by Bhattacharya and Goswami [A ...

Pyrrolic‐Nitrogen‐Enriched Aerogels With Magnetic Responsiveness Enable Cooperative Hydrogen‐Bond Regulation for High‐Performance Solar Interfacial Evaporation

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A pyrrolic‐nitrogen‐enriched ferromagnetic aerogel enables sophisticated cooperative regulation of hydrogen bonding, whereby this dual‐regulatory mechanism effectively reduces vaporization enthalpy while simultaneously enhancing molecular dynamics. The system demonstrates exceptional self‐cleaning capability and exhibits superior performance in the ...
