Real-time 6DoF localization with relative poses to walls of buildings

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
This paper presents a real-time 6DoF localization method which corrects accumulative error by estimating relative poses to building walls for mobile robots in urban areas. This method exploits a fact that most of all artificial walls are built vertically.

SLAM on the Hexagonal Grid

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Hexagonal grids have many advantages over square grids and could be successfully used in mobile robotics as a map representation. However, there is a lack of an essential algorithm, namely, SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping), that would ...

Minimal Ruled Submanifolds Associated with Gauss Map

open access: yesTaiwanese journal of mathematics, 2017
. We set up the new models of product manifolds, namely a generalized circular cylinder and a generalized hyperbolic cylinder as cylindrical types of ruled submanifold in Minkowski space.

The Gauss map and total curvature of complete minimal Lagrangian surfaces in the complex two-space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The purpose of this paper is to reveal the relationship between the total curvature and the global behavior of the Gauss map of a complete minimal Lagrangian surface in the complex two-space. To achieve this purpose, we show the precise maximal number of

Ultrasound‐Powered, Battery‐Free Implants via Triboelectric Energy Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Ultrasound‐driven triboelectric nanogenerators (US‐TENGs) present a promising approach to battery‐free implants by combining body‐safe ultrasound with the material and structural versatility of TENGs. This review categorizes current US‐TENG research into long‐term and transient short‐term applications and discusses key challenges in materials, device ...

Characterization of Clifford Torus in Three-Spheres

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
We characterize spheres and the tori, the product of the two plane circles immersed in the three-dimensional unit sphere, which are associated with the Laplace operator and the Gauss map defined by the elliptic linear Weingarten metric defined on closed ...

Impact of System‐Model Mismatch in Fourier Ptychographic Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This study investigates the robustness of Fourier ptychography microscope (FPM) reconstruction algorithms across various scenarios, each representing challenges encountered in practical FPM experiments, and deduces the extent to which FPM can provide diffraction‐limited resolution under the influence of various sources of error.

The Moebius geometry of Wintgen ideal submanifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Wintgen ideal submanifolds in space forms are those ones attaining equality pointwise in the so-called DDVV inequality which relates the scalar curvature, the mean curvature and the scalar normal curvature. They are Moebius invariant objects.

Displacement and Vibration Measurements with Interferometers: Benchmark Configurations, Performance, and R&D Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Self‐mixing interferometry is a powerful technique that brings together the exceptional sensitivity of phase measurements with the unequalled simplicity of the self‐mix configuration based on modulation of the cavity field induced by the return from the target. According to the selected measurand, displacement or vibration, and to the analog of digital

Analysis of IVPs and BVPs on Semi-Infinite Domains via Collocation Methods

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
We study the numerical solutions to semi-infinite-domain two-point boundary value problems and initial value problems. A smooth, strictly monotonic transformation is used to map the semi-infinite domain 𝑥∈[0,∞) onto a half-open interval 𝑡∈[−1,1).
