Codes over the Dickson Near-Field of Order Nine
A near-field is an algebraic structure akin to a division ring where distributivity is relaxed on one side. The smallest such object is the Dickson near-field of order nine. We lay the foundations of linear codes over that near-field.

Let \(F\) be an abelian number field containing a primitive root of unity \(\zeta _ p\) with Galois group \(\Lambda = {\text{Gal}} (F/{\mathbb Q})\) over \(\mathbb Q\). For a fixed prime number \(p\), let \(F _ \infty\) denote the cyclotomic \({\mathbb Z} _ p\) extension of \(F\), where \({\mathbb Z}_ p\) denotes the ring of \(p\)-adic numbers.

Abstract Generating hydrogel beads pertains to many engineering applications. We examined two alginate‐based fluids at three concentrations of alginate, cAG$$ {c}_{\mathrm{AG}} $$. We used the “Map of Misery” to determine which material property (viscosity, elasticity, and inertia) drives droplet formation.

This work shows resonant tunneling diode‐based opto‐electronic spiking neurons enabling fast edge detection in time series, a two‐layer photonic spiking neural network for complex classification, and a depth‐tunable photonic spiking memory system. Neuromorphic computing—modeled after the functionality and efficiency of biological neural systems—offers ...

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) tactile skins enable multiplexed measurements that trade sensing speed against information richness. This work introduces an economy‐of‐touch framework that treats tactile sensing as an information‐budgeting problem.

ABSTRACT Bamboo charcoal–based extruded activated carbons were prepared via molding, pre‐oxidation, carbonization, and steam activation, with coal tar, phenolic resin, and their mixtures employed as binders based on practical availability and technical feasibility. This study focused on the regulatory effects of binders on the mechanical properties and

ABSTRACT Efficient thermal management in advanced industrial systems requires improved heat transfer performance, particularly under non‐Newtonian fluid behavior and complex surface geometries. This study investigates the two‐dimensional flow and heat transfer characteristics of ternary hybrid nanofluids over both stationary and moving wedge surfaces ...

Kummer’s conjecture for cubic Gauss sums [PDF]
In J. Reine Angew. Math. 310, 111--130 (1979; Zbl 0412.10028) the author and the reviewer proved that cubic Gauss sums defined over primes in the ring \(\mathbb Z[\omega]\), \(\omega^2+ \omega+1=0\) were uniformly distributed; this result showed in particular that conjecture (or rather suggestion) about the distribution of the values of cubic Gauss ...

Magnetic Field‐Modulated Boolean Logic in Proteinoid‐ Fe3 O4 Hybrid Materials
Proteinoid‐Fe3O4${\rm Fe}_3{\rm O}_4$. nanoparticle composites exhibit spontaneous electrical oscillations that emulate Boolean logic gates (AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR, NOT) under magnetic field modulation. External fields of 65.103 mT tune oscillatory behavior: 84 mT enhances amplitude while 103 mT suppresses it.

Covalent Attachment of a Platinum(II) Complex inside DNA Duplexes
Oxidative addition is used for the site‐specific incorporation of an organometallic PtII complex as an artificial nucleobase into a DNA duplex. The platination stabilizes the duplex and confers it with phosphorescence. An organometallic phosphorescent PtII complex is introduced into DNA duplexes via oxidative addition to a tailor‐made artificial ...
