Self‐Similar Blowup for the Cubic Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 8, Page 1831-1918, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We give a rigorous proof for the existence of a finite‐energy, self‐similar solution to the focusing cubic Schrödinger equation in three spatial dimensions. The proof is computer‐assisted and relies on a fixed point argument that shows the existence of a solution in the vicinity of a numerically constructed approximation.

Seismic Fragility and Vulnerability of Partially Grouted Flexural‐Controlled Reinforced Masonry Buildings in Colombia

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 42, Issue 3, August 2026.
This paper presents the development of analytical fragility and vulnerability functions for flexure‐controlled partially grouted reinforced masonry (RM) buildings that are representative of Colombian urban areas, with the goal of enhancing national seismic risk assessments.

Single‐Breathhold 3D MR Elastography in the Liver, With Simultaneous R2* and PDFF Mapping

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 682-697, August 2026.
Purpose To develop a sequence for the rapid acquisition of MR elastography (MRE) parameters in 3D, with simultaneous measurement of proton‐density fat fraction (PDFF) and R2* for multiparametric assessment of liver disease. Methods The proposed sequence uses an interleaved motion‐encoding scheme to acquire 3D volumes of all motion encodings and wave ...

A Fully Automated Pipeline for Vertebral Structural Assessment From Medical Images. Application Under Metastatic Conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 42, Issue 7, July 2026.
We present an automated CT‐to‐simulation workflow to estimate structural response and fracture risk in metastasis‐affected vertebrae. Deep learning performs vertebral identification and segmentation, while CPD assigns geometry‐aware boundary conditions.
