Optimal Gaussian measurements for phase estimation in single-mode Gaussian metrology [PDF]
The central issue in quantum parameter estimation is to find out the optimal measurement setup that leads to the ultimate lower bound of an estimation error.

In this paper we present a non-Gaussian integral based on a cubic polynomial, instead of a quadratic, and give a fundamental formula in terms of its discriminant. It gives a mathematical reinforcement to the recent result by Morozov and Shakirov. We also present some related results.

Analyses and Modeling Impulse Noise Generated by Household Appliances
This paper describes analysis of impulse noise generated by small household appliances. Furthermore we propose a new model of impulse noise based on the averaged power spectrum and the random phase generation with various phase distributions.

Fermat test with Gaussian base and Gaussian pseudoprimes [PDF]
The structure of the group $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})^\star$ and Fermat's little theorem are the basis for some of best-known primality testing algorithms. Many related concepts arise: Euler's totient function and Carmichael's lambda function, Fermat pseudoprimes, Carmichael and cyclic numbers, Lehmer's totient problem, Giuga's conjecture, etc.

Conformations of Steroid Hormones: Infrared and Vibrational Circular Dichroism Spectroscopy
Steroid hormone molecules may exhibit very different functionalities based on the associated functional groups and their 3D arrangements in space, i.e., absolute configurations and conformations.

Key distillation from Gaussian states by Gaussian operations [PDF]
We study the secrecy properties of Gaussian states under Gaussian operations. Although such operations are useless for quantum distillation, we prove that it is possible to distill a secret key secure against any attack from sufficiently entangled ...

We review two powerful methods to test the Gaussianity of the cosmic microwave background (CMB): one based on the distribution of spherical wavelet coefficients and the other on smooth tests of goodness-of-fit. The spherical wavelet families proposed to analyse the CMB are the Haar and the Mexican Hat ones.

Optimality of Gaussian Discord [PDF]
In this Letter we exploit the recently-solved conjecture on the bosonic minimum output entropy to show the optimality of Gaussian discord, so that the computation of quantum discord for bipartite Gaussian states can be restricted to local Gaussian ...
