Spectroscopic Investigations and DFT Calculations on 3-(Diacetylamino)-2-ethyl-3H-quinazolin-4-one

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2016
The theoretical and experimental vibrational frequencies of 3-(diacetylamino)-2-ethyl-3H-quinazolin-4-one (2) were investigated. The experimental Laser-Raman spectrum (4000–100 cm−1) and FT-IR spectrum (4000–400 cm−1) of the newly synthesized compound ...

DFT study of the effect of substituents on the absorption and emission spectra of Indigo

open access: yesChemistry Central Journal, 2012
Background Theoretical analyses of the indigo dye molecule and its derivatives with Chlorine (Cl), Sulfur (S), Selenium (Se) and Bromine (Br) substituents, as well as an analysis of the Hemi-Indigo molecule, were performed using the Gaussian 03 software ...

Importance sampling the union of rare events with an application to power systems analysis

open access: yes, 2018
We consider importance sampling to estimate the probability $\mu$ of a union of $J$ rare events $H_j$ defined by a random variable $\boldsymbol{x}$. The sampler we study has been used in spatial statistics, genomics and combinatorics going back at least ...

DSGE Model Forecasting: Rational Expectations Versus Adaptive Learning

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper compares within‐sample and out‐of‐sample fit of a DSGE model with rational expectations to a model with adaptive learning. The Galí, Smets, and Wouters model is the chosen laboratory using quarterly real‐time euro area data vintages, covering 2001Q1–2019Q4.

Brexit and Its Impact on EU Financial Markets

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate the impact of Brexit on volatility spillovers across the EU countries. We introduce a Brexit intensity measure that assigns an intensity score reflective of the financial markets' reaction to the events that occurred as Brexit negotiations began to unfold.

Non-empirical calculations for minimal energetic reaction pathways of hf molecule addition to acetylene and methylacetylene

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2009
Potential energy surfaces of gas-phased synchronous addition of HF to acetylene and methylacetylene. A non-empirical Harthree-Fock-Ruthane method (Gaussian-03, G-31++G** basis) with electronic correlation consideration in MP2 approximation (Moeller ...

Deglaciation of the Burren glacio‐karst, western Ireland, during Termination 1: Implications for North Atlantic climate and karstification

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract The Burren uplands in western Ireland form one of the most extensive and best‐preserved examples of glacio‐karst in Europe. Subsumed by the Irish ice sheet during the Late Pleistocene, granite erratic boulders and in situ silica veins in the limestone bedrock provide a rare opportunity to reconstruct the timing and rate of deglaciation ...

Including gaussian uncertainty on the background estimate for upper limit calculations using Poissonian sampling

open access: yes, 2003
A procedure to include the uncertainty on the background estimate for upper limit calculations using Poissonian sampling is presented for the case where a Gaussian assumption on the uncertainty can be made. Under that hypothesis an analytic expression of

Deterministic Fiber‐Optic Spectral Engineering Enables Three‐Color Multiplexed Two‐Photon Microscopy

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A simulation‐guided spectral‐engineering framework maps the nonlinear parameter space of a fiber laser platform to identify balanced three‐band excitation states. The resulting 960, 1080, and 1175 nm femtosecond pulses deliver nJ‐level energies for low‐cross‐talk chromatically multiplexed two‐photon microscopy.
