Blind receiver design-based multi-dimensional stable distribution model using the EM algorithm

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2023
Multi-antenna receivers are a key technology for modern communication systems. Signal attenuation in the very low frequency (VLF) channel is a serious problem. In addition to high signal attenuation, the resulting noise on the VLF channel is non-Gaussian.

Degradability of Fermionic Gaussian Channels [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
We study the degradability of fermionic Gaussian channels. Fermionic quantum channels are a central building block of quantum information processing with fermions, and the family of Gaussian channels, in particular, is relevant in the emerging field of electron quantum optics and its applications for quantum information.

Improving Log-Likelihood Ratio Estimation with Bi-Gaussian Approximation under Multiuser Interference Scenarios

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
Accurate estimation of channel log-likelihood ratio (LLR) is crucial to the decoding of modern channel codes like turbo, low-density parity-check (LDPC), and polar codes.

Gaussian Arbitrarily Varying Channels. [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1986
The arbitrarily varying channel (AVC) can be interpreted as a model of a channel jammed by an intelligent and unpredictable adversary. We investigate the asymptotic reliability of optimal random block codes on Gaussian arbitrarily varying channels (GAVC's).

Gaussian Interference Channel With Intermittent Feedback [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2015
We investigate how to exploit intermittent feedback for interference management by studying the two-user Gaussian interference channel (IC). We approximately characterize (within a universal constant) the capacity region for the Gaussian IC with intermittent feedback.

Accuracy Analysis of Feature-Based Automatic Modulation Classification via Deep Neural Network

open access: yesSensors, 2021
A feature-based automatic modulation classification (FB-AMC) algorithm has been widely investigated because of its better performance and lower complexity.

From Darcy to Gaussian to fully mobilised grain flow in a confined channel [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
Fluid-driven grain flow through a confined channel filled with non-buoyant grains is herein observed to exist in three regimes according to total imposed flow rate.

Hybrid coding for Gaussian broadcast channels with Gaussian sources [PDF]

open access: yes2009 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2009
This paper considers a degraded Gaussian broadcast channel over which Gaussian sources are to be communicated. When the sources are independent, this paper shows that hybrid coding achieves the optimal distortion region, the same as that of separate source and channel coding. It also shows that uncoded transmission is not optimal for this setting.
