Fisher Vectors Derived from Hybrid Gaussian-Laplacian Mixture Models for Image Annotation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In the traditional object recognition pipeline, descriptors are densely sampled over an image, pooled into a high dimensional non-linear representation and then passed to a classifier.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

A fast level set segmentation algorithm for sonar images driven by Gaussian Mixture Model probability

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
Sonar images are frequently degraded by speckle noise due to the inherent scattering properties of acoustic signals, leading to blurred edges, low contrast, and uneven grayscale distributions.

A Deep Clustering Algorithm based on Gaussian Mixture Model

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
Clustering autonomously learns the implicit cluster structure in the original data without prior knowledge. The effect of ordinary clustering algorithms is not good to cluster high-dimensional data.

Trap‐Modified Inverted Organic Photodetectors via Layer‐by‐Layer Processing with Poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

Quantification and deconvolution of asymmetric LC-MS peaks using the bi-Gaussian mixture model and statistical model selection

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2010
Background Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is one of the major techniques for the quantification of metabolites in complex biological samples. Peak modeling is one of the key components in LC-MS data pre-processing.

Melt Grafting of Geometry‐Tailored Voltage Stabilizers for High‐Performance Polypropylene Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable one‐step melt grafting strategy is developed to enhance the dielectric properties of isotactic polypropylene by covalently incorporating thermally stable aromatic voltage stabilizers. This solvent‐free approach improves volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength through deep trap formation and charge localization, offering a sustainable ...

Structure–Transport–Ion Retention Coupling for Enhanced Nonvolatile Artificial Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitrogen incorporation into the conjugated backbone of donor–acceptor polymers enables efficient charge transfer and deep ion embedding in organic electrochemical synaptic transistors (OESTs). This molecular‐level design enhances non‐volatile synaptic properties, providing a new strategy for developing high‐performance and reliable neuromorphic devices.
